Cat doesn't have to get us out of bed to feed her in the morning!!!

This is a pretty good deal for feeding the cat in the morning. Even if she is on the bed, she can hear it open and will take off for breakfast. The timer is not accurate to the minute or anything but it opens pretty much on time. It doesn't have a clock. You manually turn the dial to the number of hours until you expect it to open. If it is 8 pm and you want it to open at 6 am, set the timer for 10 hours. I believe it is set up for 15 minute intervals. It is easy to use. The batteries have lasted a long time. This came if very handy while we were on vacation. Family came in once a day, usually in the evening, to feed the cat. They could give her wet food for dinner and set up the feeder with dry food for the morning. It worked out great for them to be able to only come by once a day instead of more often. I do recommend this for a smaller animal. It wouldn't hold enough food for a bigger dog or other animal. Work great for our 15lb cat.

I LOVE this! Use with wet OR dry food! Sleep in

Love this low tech device! 1) When we first started using it, the cat was unaccustomed to it and so would try to break in. He even knocked it off his elevated feeding area (we have a dog too). Did it pop open? NO! Which is a good thing as I use it for both wet and dry food. 2) You can pre-fill it with wet/dry food. Because this feeder isn't meant for more than 2 meals, you don't have to worry about the food inside. By the time you'd start to fret, you've probably feed the cat both meals already. 3) It took the cat less than 2 cycles to figure out how it worked and, VIOLA! no more "wake up and feed me" alarms! 4) If you are a forgetful person or have multiple people helping with the cat, you can mark meals on the covers with dry eraser. A simple B (breakfast) L (lunch) or D (dinner) in dry erase has made meal management amount the 3 in my tribe easy-peasy.

Decent Product with a Learning Curve

My cat has this 1-2hr early thing where she will start persistently meowing and letting me know she wants food a good couple hours early. Well I had just started a new schedule with my new job where I have to get up at 6am in order to leave and go to my job which means she was waking me up at 3:45-4am every morning and not stopping. I was starting to get angry and yelling at her, I knew I had to do something and that meant changing her breakfast time to later, but I wouldn’t be home. It really does take some practice with figuring out which way to turn the dial so its not counting down from 24hrs lol. You have to be very good or get good at counting how many hours it will be until you want it to go off. And even then it might be late by like 30-40min (to my knowledge), so not very precise. But what do you expect for something analog? lol. So for my situation, its been working out now. Kitty and I are on a more solid routine and I get to sleep until my alarm goes off and it opens up after I leave around 9am and she gets her breakfast.

Perfect. Fill it with whatever your cat eats, turn the dial, and presto, dinner is on time for the kitty!!!!

Exceeded my expectations

I have a senior citizen cat who insists on waking me up at 4:30 AM every morning to be fed. She recently adopted the schedule due to what I can only rack up to be is her age. This automatic cat feeder has been a godsend. It’s very basic but more than meets our needs. I can set each dispenser to open at a certain interval, and when the latch does open, it’s quiet – and you can’t even hear it! My cat has now learned to wait in front of the feeder every morning and has stopped bothering me to get up at such a ridiculous hour! I highly recommend this product if you need an automatic feeder on a budget.

Works way better than I thought!

Looked for something that I could use with wet food so my pet sitter only had to come visit once a day. Works great!

Not tamper proof

It's works ok but It's not tamper proof my cat would break both compartments open at once at eat his whole day meal in one sitting. I used this for awhile before I got a more expensive one that he can't break open. If your cat not always wanting food like mine it should be just fine to use.

Life Saver

My cat is always hungry, so I purchased this to use for his overnight feeding, and it's worked really well, and saved me from being woken up. Is it perfect? No. As you turn the dial to show in how many hours you want it to open, the accuracy isn't perfect. I try to turn to 6 hours, but am never 100% certain if it's set for 5.5, 6, 6.5, etc. It's lightweight, so my cat can smack it around when trying to get to the food, HOWEVER he has not yet opened it up. Cleaning the actual trays is easy (handwash or dishwasher), however the outside is a bit harder, though still easy enough. I've been on the same battery since I purchased this months ago, though I do take it out between uses. There has been the odd time that it hasn't opened as scheduled (I think twice) but that's either due to me not inserting the battery properly, or my cat being a genius and turning the dial. If you're looking for an inexpensive programmable feeder that does it's job but without any bells and whistles, I highly recommend this one.

Timer Issues

Item kind of worked as it should for about 1.5 weeks & then the timer on the left side slowed down. Example of “slowed down”: timer set for 8 hours at 6am. 2:10pm came and the timer said there was still 2.5 hours left to go. The reason I said “kind of” is because it doesn’t always open on time. Example: At 6am you can set the timer exactly on the 8 hour line and it’ll open anywhere from 1:55pm to 2:10pm. Instructions were followed but the booklet with the warnings in it contradicted the instruction manual, & also talked about a plug-in cord (the one purchased was made to run on batteries not a cord). The only good thing about this feeder is that it’s easy to clean, and is wide enough that it doesn’t irritate a kitty’s whiskers. Tried sending this feeder back but was unable to, no 30 day return policy on this. However, Amazon customer service resolved this.

Works well at a great price

Came quickly and is very easy to set up and use. It does need 1 AA Battery which is not included. The mechanism is simple and foolproof and the cats loves it, waiting beside it at opening time! Only downside is that the timer can't be set more accurately than about +/- 15 mins, but not a big deal. We're going on vacation soon and bought this to reduce visits from the pet sitter. Very pleased with it!

So convenient!

Super convenient! Kitty gets fed 3x day so this auto feeder has been great. Easy to use, doesn't make noise (I was worried about the timer), dishwasher safe. Took a couple of tries for kitty to deem it safe:). Now I can put the feeder down and go out - yay! I feed wet food so I would not put it out at night for a morning feed, but I feel ok about a couple of hours ahead during the day. I don't use every day, only when needed. As others mentioned, I remove the battery between use. I recommend.

Game changer

This is a game changer! I only feed my cat wet food cause hard food makes her puke all the time but she kept meowing for food at crazy hours in the morning. Now I put some in the bowl before going to bed, set the timer for 4am and no more meowing!!! Yay! I recommend this product! Also, it’s very easy the clean!
