Works well so far, no unnecessary features
We feed our cat dry food in the AM, and wanted an auto-feeder so she wouldn’t associate us with breakfast and wake us up with meowing. We didn’t need wifi, cameras, or anything else that could break or malfunction or complicate things - just a feeder where we could set the time and the portion size, so this fit the bill. Pros: • It was easy to set up the clock and set schedules and portion sizes while following along with the manual. • I also like that pretty much every piece that touches the food can be washed including the container and the silo that pushes the food out. You have to wipe out the chute manually since it’s attached to the electronic part which is no big deal. • It runs without the batteries in, but I like the battery option for going away just in case the power ever went out when we weren’t home. • I unplugged it once to add a longer power cord and thought I would have to reset the whole program, but after about 20-30 seconds it automatically maintained what I had already set, which is nice. • Our cat isn’t a food fiend so hasn’t tried to break into it, but the twist lock on the top seems like it would prevent that pretty well. • One portion is about 1/8 cup of our kibble. The small 3L size holds a surprising amount of food and using the smallest portion size 2x per day, should last at least a month’s worth or more. • We’re transitioning our cat from the dry food she had at the shelter to one that’s a bit more high quality and using this has made it a breeze to transition slowly over the month - I simply added her old food at the bottom, a mix of the two in the middle, and the new food on top, so each day a little bit more of the new food gets mixed in. Cons: • It’s a little rough to take the container off the base, and twist the silo part off as well - I split a nail in the process! Someone with mobility issues or neuropathy would likely have a tough time. • Wish the cord was a little longer. It’s a bit under 5ft and I needed 6 to secure it along the wall and make it look nice where I wanted to place it, so I had to buy a longer one. It’s also a USB-C to USB-A cable which makes it bulkier where I need to plug it in. • Wish it had a “skip” or “hold” option. While learning our cat’s habits I sometimes manually dispensed a portion but would forget that the timed one was still coming, so she’d get extra. Misc/Overall: Didn’t use or need the recording feature, since our goal was to not have her associate us with food, so can’t speak to that. I bought a pack of desiccant packets from another brand which I’ll plan on swapping out once per month. I’d also recommend manually dispensing a portion or two the first time you fill it/whenever you refill it until the food comes out, because the first one came out empty - the food needs to make its way down the chute, and then it works fine. Overall we’ve only had this feeder for a short time but it seems to be functioning just fine.

Tamper proof for persistent kitty
The media could not be loaded. Okay so I have three cats that all need their own specific portions: 2 female kitties that could binge until they pop and a grazer male that has learned how to make the best of a feeding schedule. My kitties are conditioned to eat in separate areas of the house at 6 am and 6pm more or less. However, a new job for my partner and I has left us not being able to get home for their 6pm feedings on time. I had considered automatic feeders for awhile but as I have said, with 3 cats.. 3 feeders is expensive and I didn’t want to invest in anything ridiculously overpriced or something that wouldn’t work consistently. I did not need an app or any of that nonsense really. I already have cameras in my house so I didn’t need the extra gizmos and gadgets. I was specifically looking for: affordable, consistent portion control, something that can stand up to two very determined kitties and simplicity. PROS: You have the option to set up to 6 meals per day. Portion size works as follows: 1 portion is about 1/8 cup — this was consistent for the 10 times I tried it and will update if that changes. It deposits the food fairly timely.. It is rather quiet, not a whole lot of whirring and noise, my cats were completely unbothered but mine think anything that gives them food is well worth any risk. It’s easy to set up. If you were born before the year 1980 then maybe not so much but I’m a millennial and this was not an issue at all. If you could work a Nokia, you can work this. It’s easy to take apart. There’s two eject buttons on either side of the main tank that allows you to pull it apart for cleaning. It can use batteries or wire adapter. I like this feature cause I’m not willing to buy a ten pack of D batteries every few months no thank you. I do like the idea that if the power goes out however, it won’t reset everything since it had battery reserve. It is KITTY PROOF - my little bean has been messing with this thing since getting it a few hours ago. Let me preface this with she is a small girl, 9lbs. Tiny but mighty and never lacking in the determination department. She is VERY familiar with puzzle bowls and to her this was no exception.. however, much to her dismay she has been unable to pry it apart. Thank GOODNESS You can probably use other bowls for this if you slightly elevate the tank. Literally put a dictionary under it and slide a maze bowl underneath. TA da. CONS: There’s no extra gadgets like camera or WiFi app etc. so if that’s your thing this isn’t for you. Likewise, the voice recorder sucks. Don’t even bother. You may as well use a can tied to a string to get your message across. The user interface aka “the buttons” — this was annoying because it’s like setting an old digital alarm clock in that you have to cycle through ALL SIX FEEDING TIMES whether you’re using them or not to get to your clock/time whatever. This was mainly an issue for me while setting the time cause I accidentally set it to AM instead of PM, oops, silly me, that’ll be a quick fix— OH NVM I have to cycle allllll the way back through to switch that, if you click too fast then you gotta cycle again. How fun. This was the only reason I docked a star but past that, it’s fine. You can manually give 1 portion, I don’t think there’s a way to make it more than that, also it will still give their designated feeding portion even if you give a manual one so keep that in mind. I will continue experimenting with this and update if I find anything new or fun to talk about, enjoy the video of my kitty being very disappointed.

Great
I got this for my cats so I could leave them alone overnight. The "portions" are wonky. I don't understand why the machine does portions instead of ounces or something. Takes some math to figure out how many portions to set. I will say I went with this model instead of a different one because this one will do more than 3 portions on a setting. My cats chew on cables so I was happy there was a battery option. I just had them sitting on the floor with batteries and my cats were happy as a clam. I did see some reviews say that cats needed adjusting because otherwise the motion of the food will scare them: my cats had no issues. But they are on diets so maybe they were just so excited to get food that they didn't care if the food was moving into the dish.

Small kibbles only!
This is a great product and worth its weight in gold. Previously, our cat was waking us up at 4 AM wanting to be fed. She would knock everything on my bedside table onto the floor to wake us up and get attention. With the feeder, she now quietly goes downstairs to her feeding area and stares at the machine until it automatically feeds her. Beautiful! One warning: it says kibbles must be 15mm or smaller, so it won't work with "dental care" larger kibbles (even mine that advertise they are 13 mm, there is a burr that kicks off the side of each kibble from the manufacturer's cutoff tool, making one part of the kibble >15mm. We changed to smaller kibbles. I would recommend this HIGHLY to anyone who has a cat or cats; great for feeding them while you are away too.

Portions are to large
I love that this is automatic and trains my cats to focus on it for food instead of humans. However...the portions are waaay to large. It says in troubleshooting that it can take a few cycles to get it right. Its been 4 days and its still to much food. The smallest portion is .01 which is about 1/6cup. My cats should not eat more than 1/3cup a day. So it is not possible to do 6 small meals a days without massively over feeding my cats. Both cats gained significant weight in 4 days. (3 lbs/4lbs) I had to cancel 3 of the feedings. And of course now they think they are being starved...

Works well but my cat is to smart.
The media could not be loaded. This auto cat feeder is great to seperate portions throught the day. Super easy to use. I would of given it a 5 stars. But 2 days of having it, my cat figured out how to unlock the unit and feed himself. Now let me explain, this unit has a great touch feature for the settings and to unlock it you need to hold the unlock button for 3 seconds. My unusually smart cat figured out how to hold this button for 3 seconds then press the feed button.

Good product, needs improvements
I have been using it for a week now. The item arrived as described. This is the renewed version of the PetLibro feeder. It works as described. The instructions for programming were not that clear but I was able to figure it out. I would give 5 stars for the product but I have main two issues. First, the settings are all touch based and are not that easy to control when pressing. Second, you can record a message for your cat, but the audio sounds terrible with background noise. You're better at turn it off. It's a very good product for the price and I recommend it, although but it needs some improvements.

Until you get the hang of it , to set the time of feedings is tricky, overall really happy with it though, it works!
