4 ounces of prevention are better than a gallon of cure....right?
Even if you spend as little as $100 on a pond liner, you will be throwing money away if you don't use an underliner with it. This material will prevent rocks, branches, roots from puncturing around the sides and bottom exterior of your pond and also from inside by providing a cushion if you need to wade in for maintenance. I use this under anything heavy or sharp that is in the water, ie: under Cinder blocks that support a granite bridge across part of the pond, under planters for lillies to allow a little water to circulate through the bottom as well as the sides. If only Captain Hazelwood of the Exxon Valdez had wrapped this around his tanker.....

Made my little pond look like new.
Used this to repair a small PVC solid lined pond after I tried multiple patching kits to fix a leak. I draped the liner in the hard pond, trimmed the edges, buried the remaining edges under rocks lining the edges, and the pond looks great! Wish I had done it ages ago.

Working well at 6 weeks!
Set up my pond 6 weeks ago and it's working like a charm. I believe it will be sturdy- and the pond will be leak free for years. I'll try to remember to add another comment each year!

Nice!
This is easy to work with. It took a bit of figuring to make it stay in place while I installed the liner, but it should keep holes from happening.
