Calculate, plan well and work in a team really fast.

We have a 1000 gallons fish pond and it developed a leak last winter; it was half full. We removed our fish to our earth pond, repaired the pond and decided to make it look prettier. There are videos from the manufacturers to understand how this needs to be done. You have to acid etch your concrete first. Before applying the paint it needs to be VERY dry and clean. One thing I can say that during application you need to plan very well because there are only 30 minutes time to roll the paint, when the 30 minutes are over your paint will become a ball of hot plastic. We have concrete shelves and a center table in our pond so we decided 50% and 50%. Even though we thought we planned it very well we wasted about 2 cups of mixed paint because we ran out of time and when you have the mixture making itself solid within seconds at the half hour time... there is nothing you can do, it is over...So for the other half we worked together really fast. Our paint tray, roller and brush of the first batch were unusable after the 30 minutes were over. So you need to plan for a second tray, roller and paint brush. I would advise you to plan for 23-25 minutes of rolling time after you mix the 2 liquids, once you finish mixing them hurry and roll and brush fast! Save a little bit of the 2 liquids in separate glass jars for touch ups. Overall it was a successful job. We already have koi fish very happy, you can see them very clearly now. Before we had just the concrete and it is a grey color, OK but now that the pond is darker and more uniform color, those fish really stand out beautifully. I would highly recommend this product for anyone with a concrete pond!

Doesn’t work

I mixed ingredients exactly as said and the bottom of roller pan got scalding hot and burned my hand it took 5 minutes for the whole pan to get hard as a rock to where I couldn’t use it
