Denne skydeventil har lavtryks- og vakuumapplikationer i klimatisk kontrollerede lagre, svine-/fjerkræstalde, gylledamme, akvakultur-/koi-damme og kloakledningsspærring og spildevandskontrol samt mange generelle applikationer. Disse skydeventiler omtales nogle gange som "kniv eller guillotine"-portventiler og er et godt alternativ til kugleventiler i lavtryksapplikationer, da de har fuld flow, hurtig åbning og generelt er meget lavere omkostninger. De fungerer godt med blødt affald som affald, men små hårde affald kan sætte sig i bunden af ventilsædet/spalten og forhindre det i at lukke helt. De kan nemt repareres ved at løsne og udskifte porttætningerne eller ventilhuset. Metalhåndtaget skrues ganske enkelt af for nem udskiftning - hvis du gør det, skal du sørge for ikke at beskadige ventilakslen. Valterra 6401-portventilen har 4 Schedule 40 hun-slip/nav-fittings, som modtager 4 rør. Den hvide polyvinylklorid (PVC) krop og navfittings er modstandsdygtige over for korrosion og milde kemikalier, ligesom de termoplastiske vulkanisat (TPV) tætninger. Dens skaft og pagaj er lavet af 304 rustfrit stål, og håndtaget er aluminium. Hardware er forzinket stål. Den har et maksimalt tryk i åben position på 15 psi og 15 psi i lukket position, et maksimalt tryk på 7 psi ved mid-flow cut-off og en maksimal temperatur på 167 grader F (75 grader C). They're ok, but...

These worked great initially but after using for a while, we're having issues. We're using 6 of these on ponds for about 9 months now. 5 work as they should, the other started leaking after use. The screws are stainless, which I appreciate since these are used for water application and some are in a very damp vault box. Will eventually replace with ball valves as they fail. Had I known how frequently we'd be having to use these and how easily they get crud under the gasket or kink the gasket, I would have gone with ball valves. If for infrequent use, they'd be great.

Installed it this afternoon after two day shipping. Very impressed with the quality of the valve, much cheaper than a four inch ball valve. Could not find one locally. This valve is rated only for low pressure, which was my application. Stem, gate and bolts are stainless steel, I hope to get years of service out of it.

My 15 yr old Mainline backwater valve failed last summer ...

My 15 yr old Mainline backwater valve failed last summer so I had it replaced with a new one and installed the 4" gate valve as a backup for emergencies. Trust I'll never have to deal with sewage backup again!

Well made Valve---BUT WAIT....

I bought 2 of these for a DIY pond setup---for the bottom drains. It seemed a little pricey until it arrived----WOW---nice looking product. The SS slide functions really nice--and it's heavy duty. I was initially very pleased, and installed it in the bottom of a custom pump house 4 feet below grade. The first year everything was fine, but now they both leak terribly and it is a challenge to work on the pump or any plumbing because you CAN'T shut off the water from the pond. The housing does not leak, but the valves are incompetant, and when fully closed, they still let a large amount of water through. Granted, it is much less flow than full bore, but you must wear boots and get prepared to get wet. When I installed the valves, unfortunately I did not leave extra length on the pipes, so I can't replace these valves. I would have to drain the pond to attempt that anyway. I remember that the SS slide had a plastic edge around the slide, so I'm guessing this edge came off, corroded or was eaten by snails, who knows.... So this year, I have replumbed part of this pump house, and I have room to install another valve downstream before my pump --- but I'm going to use another brand. If I need to work on my pump, I want the water OFF.... Sorry guys, your valves failed----- :>(

Completely dissatisfied!!

Opened box to find item broken and not functional! The item was packaged well, and the broken pieces were not in the box! So this item was shipped broken before it was packaged and shipped!! Very dissatisfied!!!!!

Does the job, a little more bulky when extended than expected.

Still awaiting the flood water to recede for installation to take place - no sure I can use it easily, but I will make it work. It is for isolating the house from drains.
