Good product for the money

We enjoy this brand and this style. Plates are sturdy. Just don't drop from high up like i did. They do scratch up lightly so need to keep in light use of bar keepers friends to take our scratches from attacking in cupboards. Hold up well after use in microwave and dishwasher. Food rinse off easily. Bought multiple sets and styles

Stoneware Dinnerware set

This set has a very nice gray-black color that looks great in the light. They feel very solid and a tad on the heavy side. I really like the oval design as it all looks great together. I am a little shocked by how big the salad plate is. You could really use it as a dinner plate. I haven't noticed any staining or discoloration with tomato based sauces which is a big plus. The only thing that bothers me is that when the plate is hot/warm. If you put your hand against the writing on the bottom, the ink will transfer from the plate to your hand. I was able to wash it off easily but it has made me paranoid about placing them directly on my counter or table.

Cute shape

It was time to replace my old dinner set. Was impressed to come across this set for its uniqueness in shape and material. Feels like stone and a little bit on the heavier side. Be careful removing from microwave as the material remains hot. I am even thinking they won't break if you drop them, that remains to be seen. I love the Oval shape plates. The salads plate are big can also be used as dinner plates. The cups adds some sexiness as they look ancient

Lovely stoneware set

I love this set! Everything is well made and sturdy. The messages on the bottom were a fun surprise. The dark grey color looks sleek when set out on the table and everything is easy to wash. It came very well packed with no damage, as well as information to get a replacement should any piece get broken.

grey is beautiful and elegant

I ordered this 16-piece dinnerware set not knowing what to expect. I hadn't heard of the company Stone + Lain. The dishes are far above expectations in design, execution, packaging, heft, texture. First of all, the packaging was done with great care: each dinner plate, salad plate, soup/pasta bowl, and drinking glass (sort of a cross between a water glass and a mug) was individually wrapped, then boxed, then reinforced, then protected by extra cardboard. All arrived intact, no small thing considering their composition. The design is bold and modern, with appealing curves, the work of a well-known artist artist named Roy Nachum (though I had not heard of him). The bowls are deep enough for a good dish of pasta, not always the case with dinnerware these days. Aesthetically original and beautiful. The dark grey is texturally detailed so it is not one bleak opaque color. The glass/mugs are multi-purpose. The dishes are on the heavy side, but not uncomfortably so. They are microwave and dishwasher safe. The dark color may not be to everyone's taste but it presents a handsome backdrop for foodie creations. For a table of eight I would order another set in cream or beige and alternate the two. The company has a sense of whimsy: the bottom of each item has a saying or comment for no reason other than . . . because. Their motto is "Where dishes come true." What I won't know for several months is how susceptible these dishes are to chips and cracks. Hope not.

These dinnerware is gorgeous

I have always been looking for some classy dinnerware for when my family has dinners together, and this dinnerware set is gorgeous! This dinnerware set is of outstanding quality and made exceptionally well. I love the feel and look of each piece, as you can feel the raw stoneware on the bottom, with each selection of dinnerware having the brand name and a saying on the bottom. This dinnerware is quite heavy and thick, making it sturdy when holding quite a bit of food. The shape of the tableware is different than I used to have in the past, but I like the form a lot; however, storing it in a cabinet is awkward. I love the color of the dinnerware because the dark grey looks classy. This dinnerware is also easy to clean, and so far, I haven't noticed any staining from foods that would have usually stained my china. Overall, this dinnerware set is definitely worth the price. Each piece is well made, and you can have a fantastic stoneware look in your home. Not only is it classy and elegant, but it's also sturdy and can be used for various occasions.

Sturdy everyday dishware

I really like the deep bowls and the cups from the set. Though bowls are standard 3 cups capacity, they are very convenient to use and you can actually fill them up without fearing to get the content on the table. Cups are very nice to the touch with the textured exterior, but they don't have a handle, which isn't very good for hot beverages. Flat plates are average - big and small plates are pretty similar in size and the rim is about 1/2 inch high, that's enough to use as a leverage to pick something from the plate, but not enough to stop it from falling out from the plate is you push it. The are fine for things like steak with mashed potatoes, but I don't recommend it for pasta. Everything is pretty easy to clean, that's good. The packaging is also good - all the individual plate types are packaged separately with a cardboard separators in between. Mine came with no damage at all
