Better than the coiled wire/rubber ones
The coiled wire ones I used to get break way too easily. Plus the coils work their way off and you end up with sharp wire things poking out the sides of your feet. Ugh! These ones are way better! I think they run small though, and I wish I'd gotten the next size up. They stay on my shoes fine, even though I'm worried about how tight I have to stretch them to get them on. My boots are really bulky and the front slips off, so I ran a zip tie across the top of my boots and threaded it through the sides of the cleats, fastening it on top of the toe and that fixed the problem. Looks tacky but I'm just traipsing around the farm so who cares? One other thing that keeps them from being a 5 is that the cleats can get clogged with mud, so it's best to wipe them on a stiff boot brush or something when taking them off because the dried mud can be a pain to get off, and it interferes with the grip of the cleats. Even with a few drawbacks , they are far superior to the coiled wire/rubber ones,

Good for the price
I have only used these once, but for 3 hours during a hike in the snowy mountains so they definitely got some use. For the price, these were great. However, on one foot the rubber kept shifting so I would have to adjust my boot every now and then. This was also without the straps because when I was in the snow putting these on I could not figure out how to get the straps on. I saw the reviews mentioning these breaking so I had backup rentals from REI. I wore the rentals on the way back and definitely felt the difference but those are $80 spikes in comparison to $10 spikes. Either way I wasn’t slipping, which is the goal. For the price you really can’t beat it.

I won't be without these in the winter in New England
I've tried other ice grips and nothing works as well as Yaktrax. We use ours every day in the winter so they need to be replaced every few years because the rubber stretches and the Yaktrax will fall off the boot. But I'm a lifetime fan because the one time that I didn't use Yaktrax, I ended up with a broken wrist due to a fall on the ice. Reasonably priced, great quality, and keeps me safe.

These Have Saved Me!
I live in Chicago and after a fall and subsequent concussion during an ice storm while out with my dog (since dogs have to go whether it's icy or not), I learned about these and bought them the next day. They were rated better than other brands (complete with a video) on Consumer Reports, which sold me. I have walked a mile and a half wearing these and didn't even come close to slipping. My only complaint is the sizing/fit. I am a size 10/10.5 and purchased the medium, however, I struggle to get them on. And when I do, they are fully stretched to the point I'm afraid they'll snap AND the heel portion is essentially in the middle of the foot. I eventually ordered the large size and while I'm not struggling as much to get them on, the heel is still practically in the middle of the foot (between the heel and the arch). This is really frustrating because it can affect your balance. Also, at the end of a walk in this bigger size, one of them fell off! It's like it was stretched too much while wearing it and it became too loose. Yet the smaller size is challenging even to put on. That said, any difficulty I've had with the fit is outweighed by the sense of safety I have wearing them in bad winter weather. I'd definitely still recommend them.

Worth Every Penny
I have never owned Traction Cleats. I have fallen so many times and done a lot of damage to my kneed and back. I still need surgery on my knees. I have nephropathy in my hands. So I really believe I needed these cleats. I tried to make the best choice and I think I did. These were the ones where the metal bends inward and they are perfect. i don't have to worry about the floor. They are really amazing on ice and snow and I finally feel like I can go out in the weather now. I was so petrified after so many falls and injuries. I picked the size i knew I could use for shoes and boots and the fit was perfect. I were a 7 and i picked the medium. The boots are sort of like snowmobile boots, much more narrow. The shoes i wear usually have flat bottoms. or a very slight heel. The ones on my boots has a small heel and they are fine for the cleats, but it makes a huge difference a heel or not. So hopefully you have the smallest heel for your traction cleats. Mine never came off and never had to be readjusted. I picked blue. I loved the fact you could pick the color you liked best. Glad i got them. They were alittle more than others, but they were worth every penny. I highly recommend these cleats.

Hasn’t actually been used yet
Purchased for my daughter and she hasn’t actually used yet; however, she was very excited about the spikes on these. She is very much looking forward to her next winter excursion to test these out.

Worked fine and at a great price. Last pair we bought at a sports retailer broke. So it was nice to replace them with these.

Run small
I've bought two different pairs of these based on the size charts. M for womens size 9.5 and L for mens 12. I want to use these on Merrell Moab boots and while they do fit, it is a struggle to get them on and not something I'd be able to do "on the fly". I have found that if you leave them on the shoe for a week or so, they will stretch out and be slightly easier to get on/off next time. In retrospect, I wish I'd gone up one size. I think their size chart is more for dress shoes than for hiking boots. I don't know about you but I'm not going to go walking in snow and ice in a pair of Keds. However, if you can get them on your shoe, they are GREAT. The traction is almost what you'd get with glacier-ready crampons. The spikes don't get clogged up with ice and snow the way another style we tired did. They aren't so massive that you can't walk on sections of bare pavement though I fear that would wear them down pretty fast. To shovel the driveway or walk out to the mailbox without falling makes these worth their price 10x over. We don't get a lot of ice events so I hope these will last for many years.

First test on icy trails
Fitted well on hiking boots. Medium on 6.5 Large on 10.5 Tested on "Dodd" in the Lake District, conditions treacherous, especially descent (see photo) We were able to walk over sheet ice with these. Durability, not sure yet, will see if they get through the winter.. So far so good...

Too smsll
I bought a small size for women. I wear a size 6 but I bought these obviously for size 6 winter boots not shoes so they barely fit. I should have returned them for a bigger size. They provide good traction.

Very useful and definitely work when walking on ice
I can’t comment on durability as I’ve only had them a few weeks, but so far so good. Quite awkward to put on so I’ve just left them on a pair of boots, great for dog walking on untreated surfaces and for looking after my horse in a very icy yard. Would recommend.

Est! Est! Est! These treads are the business. They might be a bit spendy. However there's cost and there's value. STABILicers are worth the investment. Over the past 40 years I've purchased several slip on cleated treads. These are the best I've found.
