Quickly gives water temperature

It’s nice to know the temperature before putting grandson in the tub. Only wish it was made of softer material.

Me parece un buen producto pero al parecer se filtra el agua y donde marca la temperatura está empañado, ya o logro ver en cuanto está la temperatura, es un gran problema ya q no estoy del todo segura para el uso de mi bebé recién nacido

Potential for problems, but Ozeri offered great support

Based on all the good reviews, I chose this bath thermometer. While I love the design, and it seems like it could work really well, ours was a disappointment. After two baths, the LCD readout started getting fogged on the inside, and elements of the LCD wouldn't display properly. I opened it up to get to the battery compartment, and it was all wet inside. I think the gasket was twisted at one spot, preventing it from being waterproof. This may have damaged it irreparably. In addition, the float portion has water in it too. After investigation, the float has a small hole that allowed some water to get in, but the hole isn't in a position that will allow me to drain it. It seems it will just continue to get more water in it unless I make a new hole to drain it. I'm considering getting another, just because it seems this thermometer has worked so well for others, I must have just gotten a bad one. But I felt readers of these reviews should be aware that it doesn't always seem to work great. UPDATE: Ozeri contacted me and offered a free replacement, for which I was very pleased. The replacement has lasted through several baths with no leakage, so it does seem our first one was defective. I suspect still that it wasn't carefully assembled, so perhaps a bit more quality control on the assembly would be in order. I also still found that the float has a small hole that will likely allow water in over time with no way to drain it. This isn't a serious problem, but it will mean that the turtle will float lower over time, and has the potential to grow mold/mildew inside the float. If a hole is necessary for some form of pressure equalization, I'd recommend that the hole, or another, be placed in a location that would allow draining of the float if it collects water. Nonetheless, the Turtlemeter seems like a great product, and Ozeri really backed it up when I ran into problems. I still highly recommend it.

I really liked the concept

I really liked the concept. As a first time mom, this came in handy big time. It's a perfect baby shower gift for a first time mommy. I had to knock one star because unfortunately, it stopped working after a few uses. The display fogged up and eventually it stopped changing color to let me know when the water was either too cold, too hot or just right. I opened it up to find the battery contacts had become rusty. Thankfully, Ozeri has a wonderful customer service and they responded to my e-mail within 24 hours and replaced it the day after. I give them 5 stars for customer service. ***01.21.2017__Update: Okay, So I had to come back and say I really LOVE this product. I have updated my review to 5 stars. The replacement that Ozeri sent me is still working wonderfully. I received the Duckymeter as a replacement. My DD loves playing with it in the bath. The light up color really catches her attention. This being my second meter a few of things I learned from experience and recommendations: Do NOT leave the meter (turtle or duck) in standing water after use. Remove once done and wipe dry the 3 metal sensors on the bottom of the meter. Also, the numbers on the display will eventually stop showing up after a few months but the meter will still light up. Once this happens, simply replace the batteries. The batteries the meter comes with are not the best which is why the meter "stops working" after a few months. Nothing a few new good name brand batteries won't fix. I have not had any problems since I replaced the batteries. I use this product about once every other day. If a battery change does not work, simply contact Ozeri directly. They have a wonderful customer service staff. I DO NOT work for Ozeri nor am I affiliated with them in any way. I am simply a first time mommy, writing a review on products I love for all the first time mommies out there or for you guys that are searching for an honest review. I have since purchased 2 more of these for baby shower gifts and will be purchasing another soon. Great product for the price!! I recommend 100%.

Works great, cute, baby loves it

This bath thermometer works great! It floats in the tub with our son and he loves to kick it around with his feet (he's in an infant tub now). What I like the most about it is that the temp reading is lit up by colors letting you know at a quick glance if its too cold (blue screen), too hot (red screen), or just right (green screen). I don't really care what the numbers are, I just look for the green light, TEST it with my elbow and wrist, then plunk the baby in! If during the bath the turtle turns blue, I just add more warm water - easy! The turtle floats nicely and my boy likes to kick it - he'll be sitting in the big tub soon so I imagine he'll probably grab it more - I'm not afraid of it going in his mouth. It's big and nothing can break off to become a choking hazard. We dry it quickly after each bath and we've had no problems with the battery. Yes, it does have a slight smell when you first open the package, but it went away after being aired out all afternoon before the nighttime bath. Honestly, it smells like a pool toy since it's made of that thick rubbery plastic. If the smell freaks you out, then I pity your raising a kid! As a teacher I can attest that no matter how well you protect them, they WILL ultimately put funky plastic things in their mouths (just as we did) and I'm betting they'll survive to tell about it :) Again, this turtle doesn't seem to pose any choking hazard so I'm fine with it. It's bigger than I thought - bigger than a regular rubber ducky, and not squishy. Could easily work for a spa too! When we went to Hawaii, I found myself wishing I'd packed this little guy since we had control over the spa temp at the house and wanted to make it baby friendly :) Highest I've seen it read was 107* - I wasn't going for the hottest read, it's just where the temp happened to be.

Great item!

I waited a while to write this review as I wanted to fully test it out, but it fully met and exceeded my expectations. The turtle itself is very robust so good for children who see it as a toy, and want to play with it and it's very cute. The thermometer works great, the colours make it nice and easy to see when the bath is the right temperature, the digital display is easy to see too, and it floats on the surface without flipping or turning over even when splashing around or mixing the bath water. Once out of the water, I briefly touch a towel to the base and it instantly turns off, so I would imagine it has a long battery life (although I don't know this for certain as I've had it a few months and it's still going). It can be fully submerged under the water too, and still works fine, and I like that it checks the bath water temperature every second so I can move it around the bath, at the surface and even deep below just to double check it's the right temperature for my baby, and when it is I usually leave it in as a toy and then remove it after. It doesn't have any alarms or bleeps which I like too, as I think the digital temperature and red light is clear enough, an alarm would be annoying. I would Definatly recommend this item!

Cute little turtle bath thermometer

Bought this initially to go swimming. Basically I wanted to see if the pool was the correct temperature. I wanted something that looked cute rather than something boring or just a shape as I wanted it to be able to be played with. This turtle ticked all the boxes. I now use it at home in the bath. It is good. It does not have an on/off button, which should mean that the battery should last longer. When the turtle is in water the sensors under detect the water and it turns on. It has a display which shows the temperature and changes colour to say that the water is too cold, normal or too hot. As to how accurate it is I honestly cannot tell as I have nothing to compare it too. But the water when I have been in the bath feels perfect to what the turtle says it should be.

Easy to use, helps bathe your little one safely

This is one of our favourite purchases we made for our new addition to the family! We've been using it for a month now, no complaints. The thermometer is so easy to use: unscrew the flap to the battery compartment, insert batteries, screw flap back on, put it in the bath, and voila, you have an easy to read display of how suitable the water temperature is for your little one. You can tell immediately if the temperature is ok, as well as displaying the actual temperature in number form, the screen changes to blue (too cold), green (good temperature) or red (too hot). All you need to do to turn it off is dry the bottom of the turtlemeter. I'm sure once our baby is old enough, they'll enjoy playing with the turtlemeter in the bath, as it's very cute too!

My son is really fond of animals so I thought a turtlemeter would be great to keep him occupied during bath. He is not very keen on bath nowadays, I am not being able to figure out the change because he used to be fine before. The product arrived in a good packaging so it's actually even great for gifting purposes. I also like the size of the product. Initially, I was thinking it would be smaller but I was happy to see the size is reasonable.The product, when used under water, changes colours. It tells the temperature in Celcius and turns blue if the water is cold and turns green if the water gets warmer. The quality looks good, however it has just been a week since I've used the product so can't really comment on the cons at the moment. However, the previous bath toys developed mould and were difficult to remove, this one is fine so far.

Well worth the money!

Ideal gift for new parents, I purcased this item for my daughter who is expecting her 1st child very soon, she loved it. I thought this bath time toy and thermometers would helps to ensuring the temperature of the bath water is safe before her baby. But now I've seen it it could be used for any child or even a vulnerable person. It's delightful and a nice size, I love the way it changes colour so you know if the water is the correct temperature. I got it on offer and it was well worth the money. The item arrived very quickly and I would use Ozeri again in the future. Hope this helps any one looking for a helpful item.
