Our door is drilled a little different. I was able to adjust the fit to close perfectly.

More good than bad
Rectangular doorsets are hard to come by. We were looking to update our mid-century transitional home with a more modern look (without offending the overall architecture). As a Realtor®, I had always been impressed by the solid feel of Baldwin, so that was my first purchase (Soho Model #: 85386.056). If you're on the fence between Baldwin and Schlage and your an experienced DIYer, you should know that Baldwin locksets come completely unassembled - down to each piece of metal - at least mine did. While more solid feeling, I could not "tune" the Baldwin lockset to exhibit smooth operation. It seemed to stick and feel "solid but klunky". Out of frustration, I returned the Baldwin and got this Schlage. While not as solid feeling and not the shape we were looking for on the interior (the interior plates are ROUND) it was an absolute breeze to install and the mechanism is smooth as silk. The overall feel is an upgrade from a standard Big-Box store off the shelf lock, and I've not been able to find anything close to as sexy as this one looks off the shelf.

Functionality and style, a perfect contemporary lockset.
I chose these lockset due to it's highly contemporary appearance; which fits perfectly into the style of my home. Additionally, the style is extremely functional. Having carpal tunnel and arthritis issues, I cannot tolerate traditional door knobs. This is simplistic functionality at its finest. I particularly like the fact that the lower plate of the exterior handle is adjustable in the event that the lockset is a replacement, as mine was. I adjusted the location of the plate slightly and was able to use the same hole in the door. I will only purchase Schlage products; the quality of their manufacture is unparalleled. The quality of the product is evident not only in the attention to detail in the design, but also in the functional pieces that make up the lockset. I highly recommend any of the Schlage products, and this set particularly to those who are looking for a striking but functional contemporary entry handle set.

If you like contemporary -- you'll love this design!
This contemporary handle is prettier on the door than in the picture (or in the box, for that matter.). Fortunately, we had it professionally installed because the opening in the strike plate was much smaller than the original strike plate and did not line up perfectly. Even the pro had a lot of trouble (and had to do a lot of filing) to make it work.. For a new door, of course, it wouldn't be a problem. That said the satin nickel color is lovely -- with just the right amount of shine and the key slides in and turns the dead bolt very smoothly.Very happy with this purchase.

Interior plate for the deadbolt not as shown.
The deadbolt is supposed to come with the Latitude rectangular interior plate, but came with a round plate. Not a huge deal, but I has planned for it to match other door hardware that we have in the house.
