Non-mushy silicone earplugs with handy plastic bands
These round-shaped silicone earplugs attached by a plastic band are convenient and effective. I like them because of how conspicuous they are. They’re harder to lose than regular earplugs. I wear them when mowing the lawn, but they could also be used when you’re reading and really want to concentrate. They might look dorky to wear at a rock concert, but who cares! The yellow plugs are bulbous and thick and stay put in your ears. Be sure to read the directions because the plastic band portion goes under your chin, not above your head. I’m also impressed with the durability of these five earplugs. The plugs may be silicone, but they’re way less mushy than the typical, non-banded silicone earplugs I’m used to wearing.

Just what I needed
These earplugs do exactly what they're supposed to do... block noise when you're working with power tools (or anything loud). I do a lot of remodeling, and I love how these stay put around your neck until you need them. I wouldn't like them dangling around on strings. UPDATE: I've been wearing these around my neck while working and realized the green plastic strap is a bit too small. They hug my neck and the earpieces are against my throat while not using. A little bigger would be nice. Minus one star.

Sturdy
Great, industrial plugs. The plastic band allows the wearer to remove and replace them at intervals without losing them. Much handier than muffs, especially if one wears a hat. The actual plug is on the large side, which can be uncomfortable for those of us who apparently have dainty little ear holes. I like them but I wish they had variable plug sizes.

not for everyone
If you have small ear canals, or lots of piercings these will be uncomfortable. The tips did not squish down to insert into the ear. All I could do was get them to rest inside my ear. They didn't really plug my ear so there was only a slight muffle of any sounds. The plastic edge also scraped my tragus and that was not comfortable. If you have any piercings there, I imagine that it would be even more uncomfortable. My hubs have larger ear canals and are not sensitive to things in his ears. So, he can use these for mowing the yard.

Great value.
Good value. Handy to have. The ball shape plug doesn't fit as great as I hoped but not bad with the forming. Fairly comfortable. They sit well around neck and aren't super light but light enough not to be a burden in your ears. Overall a great value.

Comfortable and convenient
Before I retired, I spent a lot of time on construction sites. Working around drill rigs and power tools, I learned to really appreciate hearing protection. As I get older, more and more of my friends are getting hearing aids, but so far, my hearing is still good. I try to always use hearing protection when I'm working with power tools or anything noisy. The soft round foam tips are pretty comfortable. These earplugs are maybe not quite as protective as the expandable foam kind you roll up and stuff in your ear, but the banded design has one big advantage: you can take them on and off as you need. Just let them hang around your neck when you don't need them. I find I'm much more likely to use my hearing protection when it is readily available. With my table saw or router table, I spend more time setting up a cut than I do making it, so the ability to put the earplugs on and off quickly is a big plus for me. The same goes for the circular saw and the impact drill. I'm not sure I really need five pairs, but then I often find myself in the grocery store with earplugs hanging around my neck, so maybe one to use and four to lose is about the right mix.

Great for power tools. Softens the harsh noises nicely
I love being able to put these in and out of my ears when I use them. When not in use they just sit around my neck and I can instantly put them in my ear when I need. It’s great especially when I am using an impact drill in a hollow tight space or when using a saw. You can use them for whatever purpose you want and they soften the sound out. They don’t completely block sound which isn’t what it’s meant for but does soften that harshness so your ears don’t hurt. After using, I just wipe them clean with a wet cloth and hang them up in my work shop. They work great and the green makes them easier to see, except when you drop them in grass. I like these.
