Great Tool Set

I started to use the driver in this set and thought that the driver was defective. I returned the tool set and received another in one day. Upon testing the second set that had arrived to replace the first, I realized that there was a quick release button on the back of the driver which upon pressing allowed the socket to attach to the driver. It is also used to release the socket from the driver. I then realized that what I thought was a defect in the first tool set was actually "user error" on my part. I actually returned the first set in error, as there was nothing wrong with the original tool set. It is a perfect design which keeps the socket attached to the driver until the user presses the button on the back of the driver. Overall, this tool set is great! All popular SAE size deep sockets as well as a complete Metric selection, along with extentions, universal, etc.

The tools will be useable BUT the tool case is lacking

I am not sending this tool set back but almost upset enough to send it back because of the tool case. The positive first the crome on the tools looks great and everything was in the case. The ratchet works great. The ratcheting action is not to stiff and works smoothly. Now the bad instead of having all of the tools setting in the bottom of the case they have sockets that sets in the lid. But the problem is that the blow molded case did not hold all of the sockets in place when I opened the case. The problem is it left the factory this way You can possibly expect some of the sockets to fall out when opening the case. I bought the 1/2" drive set some time ago and that tool case still holds the sockets in place perfectly no problems. I have another set of 3/8" drive sockets that I bought in 2006 that is a duralast brand that case has held up great and it is still useable today it is basically a set similar in size to this one. The only major difference between this set and my old one. Is old set that I have is with that case all the tools set in the bottom of the case. Nothing to fall out of the lid. Even after years of use everything still stays in place at the bottom of the case. The tools by themselves is five star quality. But poor quality case.

Good cheap set

I got this set for $32 back in December 2022. Pretty good value considering it is basically gearwrench quality. This one is a quick grab and go set for working away from the main part of the shop.

Nice Tools - Case is just fair

The ratchet and sockets seem to be very nice for the price, but the case is just so-so. Bought for a home garage set, so very light use.

Box quality

Used SATA tools many years. good quality. But at this time, the box joints broke in first day of use. Sockets does not fixed in own places, and just rolled out from the box.

Happy with this set

I bought this set because the sizes span far enough that I basically don’t need a 1/4” drive and rarely need a 1/2” drive. Granted, even the larger fasteners I work on aren’t all that tight and are rarely ever rusted because most everything is stainless on stainless. The sockets are well-marked with in-set engraving and fit as well as any sockets I’ve used, granted I’ve never used anything particularly expensive. I love and sometimes dislike the fact the extensions are all wobbly’s. They come in handy quite often but they do pop out of the locked position fairly easily which can be annoying and, worst case scenario, lead to some bruised knuckles. The ratchet is decent enough. The head is fairly compact for something you get in a kit and has never been an issue as far as clearance for the equipment I work on. I’m a little disappointed with the amount of slop in the ratcheting mechanism but it’s not bad enough to make me want to replace it and it’s yet to slip on me.

Great toolset with a few flaws

Good tools, nice choice of bits and a sturdy storage case. You have to be careful opening the case though, because the bits in the lower section are not held tightly; if you open the case upside-down, they all fall out. My universal joint / swivel adaptor had a pin back out during use, but we managed to push it back in and keep working. Otherwise great value and great quality.

Good quality for the price

Good kit if you're using metric the most, standard doesn't go higher then 3/4''. It doesn't bother me as for generally higher then 3/4'' I use 1/2 drives. Box is sturdy and clips are good ( better then GearWrench ). Chrome shininess fades quickly after a few uses, even after being cleaned with a bit of oil. for 20-40 $ more, you'll have better chrome finish with GearWrench and higher box options ( up-to 1" ). Bought this kit around 100 $ to replace my previous gearwrench kit that was battered after being abused with impacts and lost a few box sizes. Satisfied with it.

The sockets dont stay on the ratchet

The ball in the ratchet does not hold the sockets on. I have lost a bunch of them already including the extention. I am not really impressed with it. I tried to go on website to order all the sockets im missin now but cant even find that
