Laces

Love these shoes, very comfortable and love the laces.

The tongue is not secured. Ouch.

First what I like. Soles are great. Good quality materials. Quick lace system. Now the bad. The tongue of the shoe is only secured at the toe area of the shoe. What this means is that it will slide off to the side and your metatarsal will be exposed to the laces. It happens every time I put them on making them very uncomfortable. I will be sewing the tongue to the body of the shoe to make them wearable. I have three pairs of salomons with this lace system and the tongue is secured to the body of the shoe and the laces actually go through the tongue at the top. I can not see how these shoes would ever be used for climbing with the tongue sliding all over the place. These will be used for mowing the lawn...

X-Raise and X-Raise GTX (waterproof) are some of the best middle of the road shoes on the market.

Love the shoe and owned 4 pairs of the predecessors and I'd go hiking/runnning on nothing crazy either pavement or trails but I'm switching to an indoor job and moved to uhhh Florida so yeah I just realized I don't need them. If you are neutral prone and want a great everyday shoe for outdoor work or walking your dog 5 miles on a trail the X-Raise was a great shoe. Since I won't be keeping them I can't speak to any changes but I wore them with socks for one day around the house and I WANTED to keep them but my brother gave me a gift card for ON running so yeah forget all this and go check out ON running (yeah yeah I know trendy). So long story short I was depressed about having to return these because they aren't really a workplace shoe but my boss complimented me on casual Friday wear when I wore ON shoes and they are so bleeping comfortable. I own a pair of the recyclable Cyclons and my god are they great speed shoes. Okay, I'm done Salomon I still love your products it's just there are no mountains here.
