The price

Who says it just for boats? We have a Jeep!!

The waterproof radio is what we wanted this radio for mostly. But for small speakers it is very good sound. We have a rag top and drive without doors so the road noise is loud but the radio is just right. Price was really nice. We had all the parts to install and wire it up. And I love the white system instead of a black stereo. Great find and two thumbs up!!

This is a cheap radio but works

Ok the reviews about it not turning on. The first time it powers on you have to cick the on button a few times and it will turn on. This radio is ok for a boat that is used on the lake then stored in a garage. It's water resistant for light right. But if you leave your boat outside for a few rain storms, you will get water inside the screen. It doesn't seem to mess with the performance just the screen.

Well worth the price

It's only been installed a couple of weeks, so I can't speak to longevity. But for $60ish dollars, it's a great unit. Receiver is well worth the price by itself - the speakers are fairly meh but it's hard to be too judgmental given the price point. I was replacing some 15 year old Kenworths which were blown and weather beaten all the hell - well, as it happens, they still sounded better with the new receiver than the new ones do. Slight bummer there. But, really, it's unfair to expect a $60 radio & speaker set to sound like a speaker that costs $30-40 by itself. And the included speakers work just fine. I suspect the unit is not very water proof - luckily I already had a weathertight cover that closes securely over the receiver from the old unit. I would strongly recommend getting one as it is not included in the kit and if the radio is exposed to the elements, I have little doubt it would die almost instantly. If it is mounted into some sort of cabinet, I assume it would be fine. The remote is a nice touch. I thought it silly at first but as it happens, it makes it much easier to adjust the radio without having to pop open the weather proof cover.

Works Well on my Boat

I have been pleasantly surprised by this head unit and speakers. The speakers appear well built and have nice size magnets. I also installed the 6.5 inch Hydras. The speakers look nice with the white grill and shiny silver tweeters. The speaker wire that came with the set is very small, approx 22 awg, so I was not expecting much with regards to sound volume or clarity, but they sound much better than I expected. No distortion at high volume. The head unit is very light weight, so again, not expecting much. But it powered the 4 speakers very well, and the BT and radio functions work well. Low cost, looks nice, good volume; what's not to like?

Used 2 summers. Installed in pontoon.

These speakers burned out this year. Only got 2 summers out of them. The stereo part still turns on, but no sound. Took everything apart and checked wires - no luck. Didn’t expect them to last forever so it’s whatever. We use a portable Bluetooth speaker on the boat now because they’re cheaper and louder. And more versatile.
