Does exactly what it says it will do. Use two speakers that are 35-70 watts rms at 4ohms.

I've used it for a couple of days and it does exactly what it says it will do. Make sure when buying an amp to look at the RMS power rating, not max power. I only needed 35 watts rms x2 channels, but this amp was cheeeeeeeap and had twice that (70 watts rms x2 channels). So this was a no brainer. When I opened it, i saw that it was built with sturdy quality metal and other materials. I installed it and correctly connected the power and speakers. I connected my phone to my dual cd player/radio/aux and connected it to the amp and then the amp to my two 35 watt rms speakers in my boat (they are old and a little damaged but they still work aokay). I had the amp at half level so there was no chance that I would blow the speakers. When i turned the music on, it sounded aokay. So then I played around with it and finally came to the best settings: turn the amp all the way up and the cd player pre-amp gain all the way up and turn the cd player volume wayyy down. (adjust the eq to your liking and based on your speakers) When i then played music, it was CRYSTAL CLEAR. It blew me away. I brought my brother in there and he froze. So basically, this amp does what it says it will do. It powers your speakers (when matched with the right wattage and impedance) wonderfully. And for the price?? Come onnnn

Very impressive volume, sound and overall quality. No on/off switch?

So far I'm impressed. I use it on my boat running an audio cable from my phone to the RCA inputs. I've got four decent 6" Pioneer speakers on there and I can max the volume on my phone and the amplifier without any distortion and it's pretty loud, my friends and I were very impressed with the volume and quality. The unit seems very well constructed and has a bunch of nice internal features and an on-board swap able fuse. I would give it 5 stars if it had a on/off switch, not crucial but seems strange to not have one. It does have remote turn on terminals so you can sync your power with a head unit or something but I don't use a head unit. I've left it on for a 2-3 days since I've had it and it didn't drain my battery enough that the boat wouldn't start. I happened to have an old switch laying around that I easily put in between the remote turn on terminal to the power terminal until I get a chance to put a switch on the dashboard, a switch would have been appreciated. Without one I would have had to disconnect the power input somewhere to turn it off.

Under Powered

Replaced a little 80 Watt Peak amp with this "240" Watt Peak amp and was disappointed with the increase in volume. Even more than usual the wattage of this amp is overstated, but once again it proves that you get what you pay for. Other than that the amp works fine. The specifications don't specifically say it's stable with a 2 ohm load (they do say 4-8 ohms), but I'm powering two 4-ohm 6"x9" and two 5-1/4' front speakers with it and it works fine. It is not bridgeable, and has no built-in crossovers. It has a 10A fuse. It only weighs 2.3lbs. Rated at 0.05THD @20W at 1kHz. Current draw is listed at 5A, which would translate to about (5A x 12VDC = 60W input, thus less than that output). The spec's say Output Power is 70W x 2 RMS / 120W x 2 Maximum, but that's hard for me to believe. I would recommend spending the extra money and getting the 400W version if you like it loud. It comes with the cable for using the High Input / speaker level inputs, a spare fuse, and mounting screws.

Well, overall this amplifier works. It isn't a bass thumpin', tweeter screamin' amp, but it does increase the volume of your music and is pretty clear. My big issue is how difficult the installation was.....it didn't come with the auxiliary inputs! I made it work, but since it did not come with the any auxiliary (radio head) input, I had to cut, crimp and solder adapters....made by me (and that ain't pretty.) I understand this is not a top dollar amplifier, but I do expect it to come with the equipment that is stated to come with it! Overall, not bad for the cost, but awful due to the "packaging." I actually saw that this is common for this particular product.

Good amp, but make sure that it's the right choice for your application.

This amplifier arrived in two days and I installed it along side a Clarion APX480M in my Super Air Nautique SV-211. This amplifier does well for the cost, however in hindsight I will probably upgrade to the higher-wattage version. The sound is clean, the installation was easy, and this seems to do a reasonable job. After peeling back the layers though, I simply cannot see how this amplifier is waterproof in any way form or fashion. For a boat where you are putting this under a seat that wouldn't normally be exposed (directly) to getting splashed or drenched, this is a good choice. If you are going to constantly have this exposed to water, there are other options that are likely better.

Works great to power two PA speakers

I needed a compact but powerful amp to power two 8-ohm 25-watt RMS power horn PA speakers mounted in my show car to play sound effects. I first tried the Pyle PFA300 90-Watt amp I already had (running my garage stereo) but it wasn't loud or clear enough, so I decided to try this amp, as it is rated for approximately 35 Watts RMS - slightly more than what the speakers are rated for, but I wouldn't be powering them at max volume. I am very happy with the quality and volume of sound this outputs for its size. I was hoping the level control knob would act like a volume control and go 0-10, but in reality it has a narrow range and can't completely turn it down, but that's not a big issue. I can't speak for its long term reliability, and the "waterproof" aspect of the amp is pretty laughable, but so far I am very happy with this amp's performance.

Blows away the factory amp

I installed this amp in my Jeep TJ to use as a replacement for the center console subwoofer. Hooked it up to a 6 1/2" Pyramid speaker WX65X. Puts out twice the boom as factory. It's been running for about six months. Works great.

DOA

Stay away from this brand. Unit was Doa on opening. Connect to ground and power, nothing. Tried direct to batteries, nothing. What a waste of time and money. 2 weeks for delivery as well, why anyone ships canada post these days is beyond me... anyways, as I was disconnecting it the 1amp powerline fell down and where doea it land? The bloody ground lead on the amp, with the 10amp power still conn. Heard loud pop and it appears one of the transistors blew up. Lovey, its not in the garage to go out witht trash on Monday.
