Great replacement for original latches

Ordered these to replace broken latches on our windows. They matched the originals. Good, durable latch. They worked great for us.

Junk

Boy, it’s hard to find replacement sash locks that aren’t junk these days! One of the original ones in our house broke (35 years old!) and I searched to find a replacement. These look almost identical, but the build quality is abysmal. I replaced two, the broken one and the window next to it so they matched. The finish started scraping off immediately. One of the two already has a “wobble” in the handle after only a few weeks installed. The included screws are junk, so much so I ended up just using the old ones instead. I’ll leave these until they break but I’d be shocked if I get a year or two out of them, compared the OEM hardware that lasted 35 years! Unfortunately reviews of almost ALL of these products these days are terrible, so don’t feel like I have many good options. Quite unfortunate.

Does the job

Good product. Fit on my Anderson windows fine. Only issue is it's not "low profile" like the originals and does stand out a lot.

These don't work properly-take a pass

they were exactly the same style as the ones we used to have so the screw holes lined up perfectly but the hook the latch turns into is too low and so you can't turn the latch all the way into the lock. I was able to turn them part-way in to keep the windows locked but the latch stuck out at a 45 degree angle from the window...AND the finish scratched off where I tried to get it to turn all the way in. After installing the 3rd set we took the last one out of the package and set it on the counter to see where it wasn't working. Placing the latch in the locked position raised the hook part off the counter...We ended up using tiny washers to raise the back part. Very frustrating, but had a heck of a time finding latches that would line up with the existing screw holes...so here we are...
