Arrived with lid mashed.

This was going to be a wee gift for a friend's granddaughter---not going to happen now since it was only shipped in a plastic bag and the lid is broken. Very disappointing----paints themselves look nice.

These last!

I have artwork that has been in a trunk for 30 years. Painted with Prang watercolors like these and also the bigger set. The colors are good as new! Highly recommend these.

Better than crayola

Better than Crayola watercolors. Get the refillable water brushes to use with the palette. Don’t do the ol’ dip in a cup method.

the only inexpensive student watercolor set worth buying

As a teacher of watercolor at an elementary school, I have been highly disappointed by some of the junk that is being sold for student watercolor painting use. With most, I was throwing away mine or the school's money. But this PRANG set is actually usable in a classroom setting to produce some adequate experiences of using watercolor. They are good enough, for an inexpensive set, that my artist friend also uses them to teach in a local Cancer Center. If you cannot afford at least student grade tube paints, try these.

There's no Watercolors better than Prang.

For children and being able to clean up messes, nothing but Prang for us. My grandkids love them so much. For crayons, nothing beats Crayola. For watercolors, nothing beats Prang.

SO much better than other brands!

I have a 2-year-old and a 5-year old. They both love to paint and we have always used Crayola watercolors. However, once we started to shelter in place, watercolor palettes were hard to come by and I ordered these instead. Really, I should have been ordering them all along! The colors are more vibrant or seem more concentrated so even when my 2-year-old drenches her paintbrush in water, she's still able to put color on the paper. I'm not exactly sure how to describe it, but it's almost like the paint in the wells is more creamy, and not a super dry chalk-like pellet like other brands. This also means that, at least so far, they haven't dried out and cracked, or had pieces fall out, like other brands. Happy mom and happy kids here!

Beginners

Very nice product especially for those who are learning how to paint with watercolours. The colours are very pigmented and can be mixed together to make new colours. Very easy to use as well!

Careful of old stock

Old stock! The paint was so old that the yellow turned ochre. I got a Prang refill of yellow, but this set is so cheap one can't swap out paint pots like the more expensive Prang watercolour set, so the true yellow colour is on the side. Frustrating in a backpack. Using the set anyhow because my child needed a Watercolour paint set for school.

Best children's watercolor paint

The colors are very vibrant, easy to rewet. Good color selection and the size is just right, we brought it outside to paint. The brush comes with is good too. At this price point, it's totally worth it. I will repurchase it for sure.

Not very good

I bought 18 of these sets. Many of them arrived cracked and broken. The paints themselves are of a very poor quality, even for students. Avoid headache.
