Clear and Flexible Airline Tubing for Aquariums

I recently purchased the Penn-Plax Standard Airline Tubing for my freshwater aquarium and I'm extremely satisfied with its performance. Fish tubing

Used in in my fish tank and it does its job! It's thick and sturdy and had alot to run my 100 gallon tank items

My go-to airline tube

I always have a roll (or two or three) of this laying around for my fishy and non-fishy needs. I’ve never had any problems with it leaking water or air. Great tubing.

Does it’s job, but…

The tubing does it’s job well. I run sponge filters off of a Top Fin air pump. The tubing, however, was extremely difficult to fit over my air pump output, my check valves, and my sponge filter. In comparison to the brand of tubing I used before, this one had a way smaller inner diameter. I had to hold the tubing under hot water for a while in order to jam it over the outputs. The price can’t be beat and the tubing works great after the initial struggle, but if you don’t mind spending a few more cents for ease of use, pick a different brand.

Tight fit

If you think it won’t work - just warm it up for 30 seconds in hot water….then attach to valves, airs stones, etc. inexpensive and nice clear tubing.

Thin but flexible

It’s thinner than my other airline tubing, but it’s quite flexible and still fits in all of my accessories (filter, air pump, air stones, 4-way valve, check valve). I had to use a bit more force to fit it into some of the accessories (compared to when using my other tubing), but after that there was no problem. To me it’s not that big of deal considering how cheap the price was. In the pictures you can see this item is the one that has a smaller diameter.

Diameter too small

Diameter too small for most aquarium items....pain in the behind trying to get this to fit onto things. Nearly broke a finger struggling to get this to attach to a sponge filter...I woulda smashed the tube if it was smashable... but alas its rubber so it just got bounced off the wall a bit lol ! In the end fire from a lighter helped soften the end so I could stretch it over the item it was attaching to, but you had to work fast before it cooled off, and you had to be careful with the lighter so you didn't completely melt the tube or burn yourself in the process.

Smaller than standard

The description shows this is standard airline tubing. The description is incorrect. This is standard airline tubing for Penn-Plax tubing connectors and Penn-Plax noncorrosive valves only. I will heat up the end, as other people recommended and see if that works. This is non-returnable due to it being an add-on item. Sneaky!

Cheap for a reason

I would not recommend this as the tube is smaller than most air pumps (and I bought the “Frequently Purchased Together” pump). Put the end in boiling hot water and fight with it for 5 minutes to get it on the pump.
