Great cherry pitter

Works as expected

I’ve always wanted a cherry pitter for my kids and finally decided on this one. Apparently the cherries I bought were a tad too large for this tool so I kind of pushed them in sideways. It worked. Only downfall and I don’t know if this is this particular tool or if it’s common to all pitters but as I pushed the seeds out- a fine mist of cherry juice sprayed everywhere. Once I realized it, I just used it over a bowl down in the sink. Even with the cherry cleanup of the overspray- this made the pitting process so simplified compared to my past process!

Working for home-cured olives so far. Dunno about durability, but it replaces a metal one that I broke.

Worthwhile Unitasker

I try not to make a habit of purchasing kitchen “unitaskers,” as Alton Brown calls them. But my kids like cherries and I can only stab myself in the hand depitting them with a metal straw so many times. This thing works well and cleans easily. I took off one star because the splatter shield seems to fly off every third cherry.

Comes in very handy at snack time

The Best Pitter, hands down.

Great for olives

We are an olive-eating family. Pitting olives for recipes is a pain. With this OXO it is a breeze!

Amazing!! Who knew?

So I recently discovered making cherry clafoutis. The first time I used a paring knife and fingers to pry the pits out of 3 cups of cherries- big mess, time-consuming - but effective. Decided to try a cherry pitter - this one had good reviews. Same amount of cherries - a fraction of the time. Kept the cherries nice and whole with a neat hole in the middle. A little bit of cherry juice spray - but way less mess and an incredible time saver. Washes up easily - has a nice little lock on the back - fantastic! Highly recommend.

It works great!

If there ever was a product that does what it says, this is it! Cherry and olive pits come right out clean and clear. I had made cherry gelato without it and there were pieces of pits everywhere. No more. Then we made a salad with whole olives (less expensive) and watched it do its work. Fantastic. Worth every penny.
