Not bamboo, plus a number of other issues
I prefer to use a wood scraper on my grill so was looking forward to trying this one out. Unfortunately, it has a number of issues; • The product description indicates that it is “natural and sustainable bamboo”. This is definitely not bamboo. Bamboo has a very distinctive grain pattern, plus it is always made from a number of laminated pieces. This scraper is made from a solid piece of hardwood. My fear is that it is a tropical hardwood, which is definitely not a sustainable source. • The scraper is actually quite short. I scrape the grill with the burners on high so I find that my hands are uncomfortably close to the grill. The handle on my other scraper is almost twice as long • They have cut grooves in the board, which would be good if they actually aligned with my grill, but they do not. I would have preferred no grooves so over time I could create my own. • The handle hole is actually quite uncomfortable. It was cut with straight sides so the edges are actually quite sharp. It would have been better if they rounded the edges. • It appears as if they coated the wood with a varnish or lacquer. Seeing as this is exposed to very high heat, the finish is actually burning off as you use it. It would have been better if they had left the wood untreated (I’m not a fan of extra pollutants coming in contact with my food).

Great scraper for BBQ grills
At the time of reviewing, this grill brush is $16.72. This is a good price for the brush, and is better than similar ones I can buy in town. I have very heavy gauge stainless grill grid. I don't care to use wire brushes on it if I can help it. It stays pretty clean, and I like to keep the grid seasoned. Wooden scrapers like this are amazing for cleaning the grid. I'll get the negatives out of the way first. The side handle is kind of shallow. The last two I've had, had long handles. Because of this smaller side handle, your hands need to get closer to the grill. I like to cook the BBQ on really high heat then scrape it down, and I notice I have to stop a lot while cleaning compared to my old brush. Not a deal breaker, but I need to change up my approach. The other issue I had is that the pre cut notches didn't fit my grill perfectly. They sat awkwardly for a while, until I was able to wear down the wood into the proper grooves. Also not a deal breaker. I've only had one grill brush fit right from the beginning. Now for what I liked. You can REALLY get a good scrape with this thing. With the two handles, you get a lot of torque and power to get the grill scraped down less time spending cleaning, more time for drinks and BBQ. With that being said, I put a lot of pressure on the brush and it withstood the abuse. It feels really well made (it's just a piece of wood, but it's good wood.) it seems like it will last a while too, as setting the grooves took a long time. It smells fantastic. When cleaning a hot grill, you get a very sweet and smokey scent that will fill the air before or after cooking. Over all, very satisfied with the brush and I would definitely consider getting another one once this one is done.

Well made, easy to handle, a bit smaller than I like.
The scraper is well made out of good quality wood stock without knots and is rounded and sanded down nicely. The design is unique compared to my other wood scraper paddles and is, overall, comfortable to hold and use to a point and seems to fit the unusual "wavy" grates of my Napoleon grill well though with some more use these things adapt to any grill grates pretty well as you end up burning in your own pattern to the scraper end. The only thing that isn't great about using this at least on a larger grill is I find it kind of small compared to the one I used before both a bit in width but mostly in length... having a nice long handle is useful for getting all the way to the back of the grill and I also like to use the end of the handle to get more leverage pushing down on the scraper which doesn't work quite as well with this design. I'd say this scraper would be perfect for using with a portable grill but I think a bigger/longer scraper works best for a large home grill.

Good quality wood scraper made of natural bamboo
I have since the beginning of time used a metal brush to clean my BBQ grill. The metal brush is worn out solid, to such an extent that the metal brush has reduced in length and falling apart. Not until recently that I watch a video how the thin metallic wires end up in hamburgers and other food cooked on the BBQ. This Outset 66602 Wood Grill Scraper is the perfect switch that I have to make to prevent these thin metallic wires getting into my digestive system. The wood scraper comes in a 10” length, made of natural bamboo. It has 2 edges, a groovy edge and a flat edge which makes cleaning the grill so much safer. The bamboo is good quality that will last a long while. While one hand holds the handle, the scraper has a groove for the second hand to hold a good grip for exerting better pressure to clean the grill.

Better Alternative to Wire Brush
Wooden grill scrapers are far superior to the wire brush alternative, and this one is no exception. After several uses, the wood gets grooves burned into it which means it perfectly forms to the way your grill is formed. This is perfect for making sure you get a good clean every time. The handle on this scraper is a nice addition to provide a good spot to hold while cleaning the grill. Another reason wood scrapers are ideal (and a strong reason to order this scraper) is because you don't need to worry about finding stray metal bristles in your food (or worse, swallowing one). The peace of mind is invaluable. If you don't already have a wood scraper (or if you're looking to replace one you already have), this one is fantastic. Definitely recommended to anybody who regularly barbecues!
