Excellent product

Love these emitter drainage systems. Like any in-ground installation, it can take awhile to get it properly located, the trench dug, and the emitter properly placed. Once installed, it does an excellent job of removing rain water from our gutter downspouts and then from near our home's foundation. The only problem I've had was my own fault. The emitter had to be installed on a slight slope. I didn't get it completely flat against the sloping ground. The first time a heavy lawn mower ran over it, it broke into several pieces. I love the fact that the water comes out in 360 degrees instead of creating a stream than can cause its own problems. I also like the way the green top camoflauges the emitter in the lawn, making it almost invisible to the casual observer. I like the drain hole in the bottom for removing stagnant water. I also like the way the top lifts off to remove any leaves or other debris that may have collected in it.

Great for controlling gutter outflow in heavy downpours.

The first thing I recommend, is to drill three small holes in the green emitter top through the black elbow pipe and secure the top to the elbow with small screws. (I didn't do this the first time and the force of the water blew the top right off the elbow.) I dug a hole around the end of the 4 inch underground gutter drainage pipe. I then placed the drainage Emitter with Elbow onto the drainage pipe and backfilled the hole with gravel; the emitter sticks up less than two inches above ground level. I used a reflective driveway marker to show it's location so no one will drive over it, since it's close to the driveway. It looks great and works as designed.

Quality product

I was looking to extend our downspouts 15 feet out into the yard. I had purchased the 4 inch black tubing with small holes in it to allow the water to seep into the ground but when there was too much water, I needed a bobber or a pop-up like this on the end to allow the excess water to disperse evenly over the grass. This worked perfectly as the end piece.

Great product but lower price is available locally

Made a huge difference to my sump pump drainage system. Replaced my over the ground pipes with underground corrugated pipes and this drainage emitter. Works well in the past few heavy rains. I took care to prevent debris and leaves blocking the valve. Just discovered that the local hardware stores sell these 30% lesser. Worth checking it out first.

Not a direct fit for corrugated pipe

This works fine, but know that this version is designed to fit on a pvc pipe, not a corrugated pipe. I had to go to Menards to buy an adapter to be able to use, which defeated the entire purpose of ordering on Amazon in the first place.

Easyinstal, parts needed glueing

This works well but the Emitter came out of the elbow the first time it rained and I had to glue it back in. Now price has rissen and I would look for a lower cost alternative.

Works like a charm

Works like a charm. I went a bit further and actually built a dry-well, putting a 5' hole filled with rock under the emitter. Instead of the 90 degree elbow my emitter is installed on top of a 4" PVC T. I utilized the 90 at my downspout. My drainage now goes under my patio slab sidewalk. My hope is this takes me into colder weather to provide continued drainage below the frost, but I'm not certain how that will work in the dead of winter. Not much water flows in those months anyway. During heavy extended rainfall the pop-up just spills on the lawn anything my dry-well can't handle. Installed at ground level I can take the lawn mower right over it as advertised, worry free. I went to all the big hardware stores for any device like this and they looked at me like I had 2 heads. I found none of the chain stores in my area sold them or really knew what I was trying to build. No problem buying one here on Amazon though. So far, I'd recommend this device to anybody wanting to get rid of a troublesome downspout and drain sitting in a traffic area. A little work trenching, but no more tripping hazard.
