Grate Handling
Confident grill grate handling under the worst circumstances, like over a screaming hot fire with food on the grate. No problem and any singed hair will grow back, right...JS

NOT only for Napoleon grill's
have multiple grills and this works great in all of them. No more fundling around with those awkward shaped cast iron hooks you buy for cheap. This helps me remove all grates, including GRILLGRATES with ease and total control. A Must have for sure.

It's OK
While it works when I need to move my grills around this is not a very solid product. You have to position it just right in order to keep the grills from sliding around too. I don't regret buying it, but it could be built more rugged.

Great Tool
Saves a lot of mess when lifting the grates on the grill. You also can lift them when they are hot.

Great when used within its limits
I've got an older Weber genesis grill with stainless grates. (has three knobs on the right side stainless table) This lifter works great on my grill and has been a reliable tool for the past couple of years. I use it to angle/lift up the hot grates so I can fill up my smoker box or toss in a smoke bomb or two. For that purpose, I can't think of a better option than this tool. My hands stay well away from the heat source. If I were lifting the entire grate out, I'd want something else however. Even with the lighter stainless grates, all that weight hanging off of the end of this tool is just asking for trouble. If those grates were hot, it would probably lead to burn. I mean really, who wants to lift around five to six lbs of hot metal with this thin handle and tiny prongs? My tip, would be to look for a tool that takes advantage of gravity and not leverage if you frequently need to remove a grate. Simple hooked metal rods do the trick in that case.

Quality is ok not outstanding, lifts all my grids, decent price
Overall this grid lifter does the job. It does not seem like the highest quality item. Would have liked if the handle was a bit longer but It does work and give me control when lifting grids on my Napoleon Prestige BBQ (main and sizzle zone). Like this it’s Napoleon branded because it matches my grill, for the price it’s a decent value. I bought this because there are times when I need to lift a hot grid (i.e. to adjust the level on the sizzle zone, or adding charcoal) and it’s difficult/dangerous to do with tongs. So this will do the job at a reasonable price.

Works well if grids are preloosened or hot.
I tried lifting the grids after several BBQ uses and found it almost impossible to move the grids because they were stuck to the frame with old dried grease and debris. However, once the grids are loosened from the grease, the grid lifter works fine. I have a three grid Napoleon BBQ (2 wide grids and one narrow grid) and unless I am cooking for a crown, I tend to use only one grid and store the other ones away clean - saves unnecessary cleaning! When the grids are hot, the lifter is most useful as it lifts the grid easily and you can then slide the grid over to the searing plate and back again without burning or messing up your fingers. So, in short, I find the grid lifter useful for moving the grids when hot and messy but, for cleaning purposes, when everything is cold and you know you're going to be in a mess anyway, I don't find it very useful or even necessary. For the price, they are a neat accessory.
