LEVOIT Salt Lamp relaxes me...

I was gifted about 6 years ago with a Levoit salt lamp, a different model that stop working, so I got this lamp. I turn it on in my bedroom and it makes me feel relaxed and calm. Love this brand and the quality!

Salt lamp bowl

I purchased two of these for my tiny AZ home... one for the master bedroom and one for the living/dining area. I have never purchased a salt lamp before and I cannot speak to the list of possible benefits, but I am hopeful for positive results. However, having said that, the lamp is lovely. The dimmer switch is very nice. You can control the brightest easily using the dimmer switch which clearly changes the mood. The salt chunks are large and each chunk is unique in color and size and shape as you can imagine. The bowl holder is a clear acrylic type material... about 8" in diameter - just eye balling it... and about 6" tall. It came very carefully and beautifully packaged. Once you put the salt in the bowl I can image that you don't want to move them around a lot as it could scratch the bowl. I did carefully move a few pieces to places I felt were better. I have had the lamps plugged in for about 8 hours... no odors. Just a really beautiful glow. The dimmer switch is hard. You just tap it to turn it on or off and gently press to dim or brighten. There is a very nice booklet with instructions on how to change the bulb (a spare is provided) Cleaning instructions say: regularly dust salt crystals with a dry, clean cloth. Do not wash or clean with water or detergents, If not in use for a long period of time, store the lamp in a cool, dry environment, covering the crystals with a plastic bag. The lamp may naturally moisten in humid environments - saying further that if you use in a humid environment leave the lamp on for several hours to naturally dry out (I'm thinking like in a bathroom?) They also note not to place to close to electronics as the salt may draw moisture. It says if the salt crystals become moist - gently pat down with a clean dry cloth - also noting not to clean the bowl with any organic or other solvents or it may become damaged. I would say if you're looking to purchase one of these as a gift, they are beautifully packaged and look very high end. The price is definitely higher than some of the options but not the highest. I personally chose the bowl style of salt crystal because salt may draw moisture and I wanted it contained instead of dripping off a free standing rock without containment. I do really love the soft glow. That alone is worth the purchase to me. I do really hope the claimed health benefits will be a bonus. I never hesitate to update my reviews if new info should seem useful. I also try to answer all questions to best of my ability. Hope this helps you in your decision. UPDATE: 2/10/2017.... I have been using both lamps 24/7 for some weeks now. Both are still working perfectly. I still believe these salt lamps are a really good buy. I've looked at so many in person that were so much more money and so much less lamp. I think one of the best parts is the dimming light. You can really adjust to comfort, for instance, in the bedroom. Still feel these lamps are really 5 star items.

Great ambiance

This is a great low light lamp with lots of ambiance. The light was very well packaged in an attractive box, it had form fitting foam at the top and bottom and the salt structure was wrapped in air-filled vertical bubble wrap. It comes with two additional 5w incandescent bulbs as well as a good explanation of how to use the on/off dimmer switch. The only reason I don't give it five stars is that the on/off dimmer switch is a little tricky to use. I think I would have preferred a simple click on/off dial-type rheostat but I think these folks were going for a higher-end fit/finish with this touch style dimmer. If you've not used one it takes a bit getting used to and well, we're not used to it yet. So at night we're having to touch the switch multiple times to get it set at the level we want. With that said, over time it'll be second nature and I've already "improved" in my ability to control these lamps since we got them a week ago. Visually they're great to look at, my wife likes a nice relaxing low-light around the house as we get ready for bed and these totally fit the bill. She's been turning one of them up to just about the highest level for the lamp next to her reading chair and it's just enough light to read by. We ordered both a "pink" and a "pink orange" and we both like the look of the "pink orange" as it has more striations in the crystal making it visually more interesting to look at but the pink one is just fine as well. I've include low-light exposures of both crystals so you can see the difference.

Nicer than expected

I've had this for only one day but, so far, it seems to be a quality product. I bought it for myself. The lamp & the packaging would also make a wonderful gift item.

Pretty but plastic melted

Me llegó defectuosa

Me legó la pieza estrellada, tenía una gran grieta y en general estaba como un tanto estrellada, en el sentido de que se veían muchas partes como blancas; lo demás bonito diseño y perfectamente empacado, lástima que mi pieza resultó defectuosa y la tuve que devolver :( La devolución fue muy sencilla y práctica, no tuve que pagar nada
