Seems nice

I got the Amazon gift book in the mail and every year I give my Granddaughter catalogs and tell her to mark what she would like santa to bring in them. This year she only picked in the Amazon book, she did not have alot of time with activities anyway. So Christmas came she was opening gifts and was so very happy to see this item. I gave 4 stars for the smile on my granddaughters face. Also delivery was quick and easy. Actually I usually take what she picks in catalogs and shop around for it, but the Amazon gift book made it easy with the product number in the book and she got everything she picked because it was easy! When I find out how it works I will be back to update. I honestly can not say how it works yet because she did not open it yet.

Meh

The light constantly changes color. No white light for getting to look at the rocks a little better, just a useless, very bright, color changing LED. The container and cover for the rocks is extremely flimsy plastic, not a case whatsoever. None of the rocks were particularly exciting or beautiful, which meant my kids lost interest within a couple days. A couple were mildly interesting but to my rock collecting crew, none were ones they would pick out to take home. They are pretty small and lower quality examples of their type. I wish I'd found a better kit. This one was a cheap feeling rip-off.

Some Fake Gems, Broken Light

Several of the gems are fake. Opal and both goldstones are man made. The light stand came broken. There is no way to fix it. It is not a bad set overall and would be good for children if the light stand was not broken, however, it is not worth full price. 3 stars if the light stand did not come broken.

Beautiful rocks and gems, Amazing book, Cool LED lamp!

My twin boys love rocks but never know what to do with them. This gave them ideas for projects and experiments, and they love switching out different specimens on the multi-color light lamp!

Light doesn’t work!

Waited nearly a month for delivery and the light doesn’t work! So upset.

Wanted the set for the light. Assumed it would be white light and it was goofy colors.

I wanted just the light but couldn’t find one elsewhere. I though the idea of the light was to make mineral slices show their natural colors. Instead the light just bathes each specimen in artificial colors and there is no way to change the bulb(s).
