The bagel just rolls out of the holder when you try to cut it!

I bought this bagel holder after getting a nasty cut from cutting a bagel with a serrated knife. Unfortunately, this holder doesn't cure the problem. The bagel must still be held while cutting or it will just roll out of the holder. Still looking for a safe bagel holder.......

Substantial but bent

This review is about the Ironwood Baguette Miter. This is a large, very sturdy piece of wood. In fact, storage requirements should be considered. But, whether by design or accident, it is somewhat canoe shaped and rocks from the middle. Enough that I'll be using a sander to try and flatten it. Cutting at either end currently results in the 'boat' rocking up on the other end. Don't know if this is common. Still, very well made and finished except for the curvature. Actually useful as well as ornamental.

Beautiful but warped

It is a beautiful cutting board. I gave it as a Christmas gift and it was warped upon unboxing. Both the inner and outer trays were warped such that it didn’t lay flat. I was disappointed, but the recipients said they didn’t mind.

Looks good; not necessarily for fat modern "bagels"

It looks good in the kitchen. Mine arrived with the handle broken off (it had just been glued in place). I merely glued it back on with better glue. Unfortunately, the fat non-bagels that pass for bagels today won't fit into them. If you have a source for traditional sized bagels, this will work fine.

Better than expected

The acacia wood construction is not only beautiful, but also durable and easy to clean. The miter is the perfect size for slicing large baguettes and the serrated edge ensures precise cuts every time.
