The description read that the fire lasts an hour. The box clearly states otherwise.

Fire doesn’t last as long as stated. Paint came off when I removed a sticker.

Is anyone actually using this indoors?!

OK - first off, we LOVE this thing. We spend lots of afternoons and evenings and weekends on our front porch with friends and neighbors, so this has been a lovely addition to those gatherings. It puts out a good deal of heat which both is and isn't surprising for such a small firebox, but it's really great, regardless. It's also a beautiful ambient light in the evenings while you're out there with a glass of wine and chatting and watching the stars. There's a flat, spatula (as someone else accurately described it) piece that is used to tamp out the fire when you're done, and that works very nicely. My only real question, though, is who is using this indoors?! The title description says that this is also for use indoors, but there's no actual way I'd use this inside, because it just feels like it's too much of a flame for me to feel safe using it inside my house or apartment or whatever. I hope, if you're doing that, you're being SUPER safe.

I finally cracked it!!

The media could not be loaded. (And by "cracked it" I mean I finally figured this thing out, not literally cracked it.) :-) My main complaint is that the instructions are pretty much non existent, so by reading other reviews and using a bit of common sense I figured it out. I will share my experience, and hopefully it'll help others the way the other reviews helped me! This thing is really cool looking, I love the concrete look and finish and it's super heavy and feels very well made. Right out of the box it's really cool. Easy to put together, again by using common sense and also looking at the listing pictures. (At first I didn't know what the spatula looking thing was, but eventually figured out it was to extinguish the flame.) This comes with one wick that kind of looks like a strip of cotton and isn't really explained very well and I'm still not sure what happened to mine--if it got thrown away accidentally or ended up in the packaging trash or what, but somehow mine got lost somewhere along the way (this information will be important later). So I got it all put together, and now I'm ready to make a fire! How hard can it be??? I filled the little basin with regular old grocery store rubbing alcohol (again, got that idea from others' reviews) and tried to light it and NOTHING. At least for me, it wouldn't burn at all. At that point I unfortunately figured out that the missing wick must be necessary after all. (Great!!) Luckily Amazon came to the rescue and I was able to order replacement wicks. They came in 5 huge sheets that you cut with scissors to fit into the alcohol reservoir. (I searched "ceramic wool wick" and there were a couple of options. Great value by the way, I now have so much wick material I could probably make fires for the next 20 years for a super low price!) Once I added my shiny new replacement wick and lit the alcohol it worked PERFECTLY. And now that I've cracked the code I LOVE this thing!! It puts out quite a bit of heat and looks really really pretty when it burns. Seems to be odorless too. And the mysterious spatula item suddenly became very useful and put the fire out right away when I was done. Looking forward to many ambient hours of pretty patio tabletop fires in my future!!

Nice little pit

Ok for smaller patio set/furniture/table. Since it is small you have to keep refilling with fuel/alcohol to keep the fire lasting. I use rubbing alcohol since i have two bottles that i barely use. Looks great with simple light color scheme

Adds ambience when you dont want to light up the fire pit

This is a nice little burner that will add ambiance to your setting if you dont feel like pulling out the solo. Great for making smores, and just adding to the atmosphere.
