Good durable mats

They look nice but they have tendency to move. I brought step tacks but the tacks seem to rust on top.

Made my wooden basement stairs much safer

Just installed. Easy to trim with a sharp razor knife. The lip is designed for a 3/4" stair. Mine are 1.5" and a wider lip would have made it easier to secure the lip to the front of the stair. The mats appear durable.

Slip around more than I would like, but once you step on them, they have good traction

We have several steps in our house to go down to our backdoor from our kitchen (so they are vinyl), and our dog is pretty old and slips sometimes. I got these hoping this would help her with slipping and keep her from hurting herself. Once you step on these, they are great—no movement whatsoever. The only problem is that when there isn't any weight on them, they can get a bit "floaty" (at least on the vinyl). So, if you bump them or drag your foot as your weight is almost off, they tend to move around. Because of this, I've tripped a few times on these from them being offset on the steps. That said, I think some carpet tape would probably fix it; I've just been hesitating because my dog drags in a lot of dirt, and I'm not sure how that would go with cleaning.

Great value for stair protection for slippage

This product solved the problem for slippery stairs when wet or icy. They are well made, flexible, easy to install, and a great value.

Good Quality Tread Covers

Coming out of the box, these tread covers were slightly deeper than I needed, but I found that they were fairly easy to cut with an everyday box cutter knife and a straight edge. I am not giving 5 stars because the nose of each cover was not adequately angled making it difficult to get them to stay down flush on the stair nose using "industrial strength" double sided tape or adhesive caulk. I installed these on basement stairs to make them safer for my elderly mother. Noses popping up could instead create a tripping hazard. I ended up stapling them to the front of the stair nose, but I may end up just cutting the nose part off and throwing them away. The treads feel good, almost soft, to walk on. They grip very well - it would be pretty much impossible to slip on one of these! I can't speak to durability yet, but in my case, the stairs will not see a lot of traffic. For heavier traffic, you may need the industrial version of these, which costs about 5X as much.

Only 50% of them are useable!

I like these stair treads HOWEVER I am using them to replace ones I installed a couple years ago that ended up catching people's feet/shoes when they were walking up the stairs. The challenge with the old stair tread covers was the lip that went over the step nose (rounded part of the tread that pokes out over the riser of the step below) was not angled at a hard 90 degrees down from the step...it flared out about 10-15 degrees and caught people's feet as they climbed up the stairs. This product comes in sets of 6 treads per box, is packaged rather loosely and as you can see, can have the same problem of the nose lip not holding firm at 90 degrees down. I purchased two boxes and was able to use 6 in total on my steps. The others are too out of shape to be used safely. The middle (2nd) photo shows a comparison of three out of shape ones compared to a properly shaped one.

Just as expected except smelly

The construction looks great and arrived in good condition. The smell they give off is really strong, like rubber tires. I purchased these for an interior common stair area and I'm worried that the enclosed space is going to stink. I've left these outside for a week hoping the smell dissipates, but not really working. We'll see how it goes.

Need to Secure by Glue and Screwing

A good product, just wish you could get them in lighter colours. In order for them to be totally safe and secure on stairs, we are going to glue them down and secure the bullnose with screws, so your feet don't catch on them and trip.

I ordered 2 pkgs and they have different patterns.

The media could not be loaded. the 2 packages have a different pattern. One has lines on the edge and the other doesn't. This is very obvious when looked at on the stairs.
