Great tire carrier

4" beware

Did it work, yes. Did it work as advertised, no. I mounted a spare tire on a 2x4 trailer tongue. The product description says that it can be mount on trailer frames up to 3.5" wide x 4" tall. If you'll notice in the first pic, the U bolts cannot be crossed per instructions on 4" tubing. The second pic shows one of the U bolts is longer on one side by 5/8". It worked but poor QA. The third pic shows a push nut which secures the wheel studs to the carrier. The fourth pic shows what I received, a lock washer which in no way will secure the mounting stud to the carrier and serves no purpose in this application. The fifth pic shows the wheel mounted. Like I said, it worked. The last pic shows the wheel stud and if you look close you'll notice how long it is. It's too long to use a 4 way on so unless you carry a ratchet and deep well socket with you, you're not getting the spare off. I will either cut them shorter or buy shorter studs. The wheel studs need not be longer than 1 1/2". The carrier will definitely work better on 3" tubing as opposed to 4" tubing. The quality assurance of the hardware used on this spare tire mounting system is poor but the carrier itself is nice.

Perfect for carrying a small spare tire

The tire carrier is made with a single strip of steel bent to its final shape. When installed, U bolts hold it in place in a way that whatever happens more likely, you won't lose your spare tire. The center piece is welded for added rigidity making it sturdier. The finish is painted, making it great for trailers that don't go into water, unless it is installed on the front of the trailer and doesn't get submerged. I wish I had another trailer, so I could buy another one.

Trailer Tire Carrier

This was easy to install, thick steel and two different length U-bolts. Holds the tire perfectly still. There is no welds to break. I don't see any problems with this ever. This is a perfect addition to my trailer. You won't be disappointed.

You won’t regret it

Solid single piece construction. No welds to break, this thing will never fall off. Comes with two lengths of u bolts for multiple frame thicknesses. If you’re looking for a spare tire carrier, this is it.
