Bought this for a friend and now he has sold the house and moved. It seemed sturdy and functional.

Good not great

Works as a shower bar. Good quality. What I dont like is the screw holes are visible and no cover plate is provided. If you go into concrete you need different screws and they may not be a matching silver so that will look off Better for an office bathroom then residential shower

Solid

This unit was installed to accommodate a person who needed support getting on and off the toilet and has served quite well, well anchored to the wall and able to support heavy sideloads. The finish is excellent with the textured area providing a solid gripping area. It can be used in or around a shower or tub to provide a safe and secure way for disabled people to maneuver their bodies where they need them to go. It is not intended as a towel rod but it can do that too. No towel rod, however, can do what this unit can do to handle handicapped needs.

Great for safety but screws rusted

Their great as far as safety is concerned , but the screws are rusting, which I feel should not be happening

Great inexpensive bar for peace of mind!

Had a friend install it using the wall anchors ( -not included but strongly recommended by a carpenter!!) that I provided. This sturdy bar (properly installed) will ease your ability to enter/egress from your tub/shower and give you that extra bit of security. As a person with neuropathy in my feet this bar helps gives me that extra stability I need and assurance when I need to shower I can do so independently. I found the cheapest bar I could find in my local hardware stores in the upper $40 range and were plain (no textured surfaces on bar) Good value for the money! I use the difference in the money I saved buying online to pay someone (qualified) decently to come and install my bar which took them under 10 minutes!

Hold on baby!!

These things are awesome! When I'm about to crap my pants, these help me to get on that throne just in time. I actually hold then when I'm really straining out a big dump. I even put one of these over the bed to help with a little extra push...if ya know what I mean.

Steady On!

I wasn't going to buy a shower grab bar until I got really old but this was a Warehouse Deal at an unbeatable price. I installed this at the outer edge of the wing wall which separates my shower/tub from the toilet. Having only the narrow side of the 2x4 stud to fasten to, I can only use the top and bottom screw holes. The supplied screws bite and hold very well (pre-drill the holes!) so I find just the two hold it down solidly. Drilling for wall anchors, especially in a shower, is best avoided when the wood is in the right place for safe installation.

Grab bar

we installed this in the garage as there are 3 steps and no handles. My husband screwed it into a stud and it is sturdy and very handy. The quality appears to be great and the handle has a no slip grip. I highly recommend.
