Increased power and longer life for 18 volt tools

While my 18 volt tools were still good, the batteries were worn out. Comparing cost of18 volt batteries to the cost of new 20 volt tools, i thought It a better investment to replace my older equipment. The Dewalt battery adapter extends the service life of your tools. Additionally, the newer lithium ion battery is more powerful, lasts longer and recharges faster than the old 18 volt batteries.

Keeps your golden oldie DeWalt tools powered up

The cost is reasonable. This adaptor will permit the use of many different amp hour Li-ion batteries whereas before you could only use one size amp hour Ni-cad battery. One drawback is that the adaptor is difficult to remove if you wish to share it with other Ni-cad DeWalt tools.

It works great, just like it should

It mounts right up and I use it just like the 18V. My 18V batteries are wearing down, so this adapter works perfect with my 18V tools. Awesome product!

Great Adaptor Solution

Having a mixture of 18 and 20 volt Dewalt Cordless tools, I am hesitant to purchase any more 18 volt batteries since we are transitioning to the 20 volt tools. This adaptor is a great solution, being able to continue to use our 18 volt tools with the newer 20 volt batteries. It works on every tool we have, from drills to saws. I highly recommend this to anyone else in the same boat with 18 and 20 volt Dewalt cordless tools. I tried a cheaper off-brand adaptor and it did not last too long. Spend the extra $15 to get the Dewalt brand adaptor.

Works as advertised

It works but I don't like how it makes the battery attach at an angle. I bought some others from Amazon that work great but are flat on the bottom. I like those better.

Easy removal

So far, the one I have did not have any issue of getting stuck. I applied a coat of lubricant on the clip contact area and it is easier to remove when you first remove the 20V battery to give the clip a little bit of flex to flawlessly un-clip the adapter retention. I don’ have the 6 AH battery but it would not fit the 8AH and flex type batteries too. If R and D had purposely prevent 6AH not to fit, is probably to prevent 18V motor design from smoking and has to do with the longevity on the 6AH and higher rated batteries. I bought a second adapter for my six other 18V DeWalt tools.

Works good but a little hard to take off.

I have a lot of old 18V and it was cheaper to but new 20V tools than older 18V batteries. This adapter works great but can be very hard to remove at times. I though about sanding a little off the connectors but haven't tried that yet. Performance wise it works great.

Revive your old DeWalt tools

Lets me use all my old DeWalt tools with the new lithium ion batteries. Some people have mentioned in various places that it is difficult to remove but if the lithium battery is removed first I find it much easier to remove than the old 18V batteries. Makes my old tools work again

I've tried this on all my old dewalt stalk type battery tools. All tools work again with this adaptor now. The price is a bit excessive but if these tools keep working with this adaptor then it's well worth it. The adaptor came in proper plastic retail packaging with instructions so I have no doubt this is a genuine dewalt product

Give me more Power!

Works great with my old XRP Nicad drill. Feels like got more power too with Lithium Batts but could just be imagination playing tricks again. But definitely benefiting from longer run time especially with 5.0AH battery. No probs inserting into drill or disengaging. What I would say probably an obvious downside is size increase of tool with adapter fitted.

Get one

It works perfectly with the old style dealt drills and the new batteries. Did purchase one from China which was rubbish. Save your money and get this one and still use all your old dewalt kit

Worth the money

I had previously bought cheaper versions which come loose and don’t allow full discharge of the battery, this one yes more expensive but worth it as it works perfectly
