Very sturdy one-piece kitty litter box step~~not so cleanable as you'd like

Light painted wood, it is one piece, with a little flip spout to dump litter. Given the material and inability to pull the tray portion out to clean it, the design creates a less sanitary situation than would be desired if it were (and I seriously cannot believe I am saying this PLASTIC, but of course, HEMP would be cooler) or if it were a two-piece with the tray able to be removed. The flip-spout would then be irrelevant and it would be so easy to clean first manually and then pop in the dishwasher. It just arrived & I've yet to have to clean it, but I do want to say beyond the particulars noted above, it serves the purpose of catching the just-stepped-out-of-the-box litter that is the hardest to address and builds up. I would rate this higher if it were a 2-piece and then even the lack of easier cleanability of painted wood would be easier to deal with. All that said, it does look really nice. Kitty digs it fine.

Really beautiful

Arrived promptly and was well-packaged. I bought this to serve as a step and litter-catcher just outside the opening of a different elevated litter box, not the Refined one, and it turned out that my cats were confused by this "step" and didn't use it. So I'm having to return the item, with sadness because I really liked it! If I were to buy another litter box setup, I would definitely choose this entire set.

Wrong color sent

Ordered gray but got the black one. Black shows more litter inside. Not returning cause it’s too much hassle.

Worth the extra expense to eliminate tracking litter!

We bought two of these litter box hutches for our cats. See my review on the hutches themselves to read more about how in love we are! ???? I bought the litter catches as well but the way the shipping worked out our cats used the hutches for about a week before the catches arrived. So we have used the litter box with and without the litter catch. And the litter catch is absolutely worth the extra expense. We loved how the hutches eliminated smell, but the cats did track quite a lot of litter through the house without the catches. I definitely recommend springing for the litter catch in addition. It is more than worth the time saved vacuuming several times a day!

Good product but My cat won't step on it

Nothing wrong with it, it's sturdy and looks just like the picture but I had to give it 4 stars because I can't use it. My cat will not step on it. She literally jumps over it to get into the box and then jumps over it getting out so her feet don't touch it. I think the slats may be a little too wide for her, but she's a cat and we all know how they are. The product is good though if you're cat isn't so particular.

Litter doesn’t necessarily go in slots

It’s ok but the litter doesn’t go completely into the slots so it ends up looking like this picture.

Great Cat Box Cabinet Assessory Step

This step really does help remove litter from our boys hairy toe tufts. It of course matches the cabinet and comes fully assembled. The cleaning door is small but works fine.
