First use

Apparently I at least got one that was already blessed. The first night out was epic. Those big girls will be excellent in the smoker. The polar creel was put to the test right away and held up fine to all that weight. It rides high but that’s fine by me, it was never in my way.

Fantastic while it lasted, which was unfortunately only 3 outings

First, this creel is functionally perfect. Great size for my eastern trout fishing needs. Big enough to carry my limit(when I can get it!), but not TOO big so that it's a burden to carry for a day of wading. The strap works fine, the snap closure is sufficient to secure contents, and the plastic hip barrier is a good idea to keep the wet bag off of the wearer. Design-wise, this product hits all the marks. The only feature missing, as pointed out by previous reviews, is that the inner plastic pouch could have benefited from drain holes to prevent the bag from filling with water. Unfortunately, this is where the positives end. While the construction itself seems ok, the materials used are the downfall of the product. Arriving home after my third day of wading for trout, I've discovered that the "canvas" material has begun to give way and is now gaping holes at the seams on the edges and around the piping of the "mouth" of the bag. It was immediately apparent when the product arrived that it wasn't true cotton canvas, but I held judgement since it seemed to be decent enough. I think, however, that the material is the same used in green bags from the grocery - it just hasn't held up. Actually, I have greenbags that have lasted over 5 years - this bag lasted 3 days. I'm a fan of compromises where it makes sense, but some things you just can't compromise, and structural material choice is one of them. Unless you only need a bag for a weekend trip, save your money. Will not be purchasing a second.

It’s cheap enough to buy two.

We will see how it is after another fishing season. I replaced a worn out one after two seasons. I use it a lot. This one, the shoulder strap isn’t long enough. At full length it still hangs above my belt when the strap is over my head. On the plus side is the pocket with a zipper. When wet it keeps fish nicely.

Nice creel

Very well put together. The snap does not snap on all the way, but other than that, no complaints

Great creel for the price

My family had been using this creel for years, as soon as we discovered them. So much better than using a stringer. This creel works at keeping the fish cool - we are in Colorado, so the water you dip it in is snow melt and is already cold, but the evaporation keeps the fish cool as long as you keep dipping it every hour or so. The polar creel isn't quite as good as the ArtiCreel (from Cabela's) but those are pretty pricey! This creel works great for the price, it's a great deal. I like the measuring tape printed on it too. The only thing that has "broken" on our polar creel is the plastic apron thing that is between you and the creel to keep you dry.... it tore after several years of (hard) use. but no big deal :)

Nice sized creel for stream trout

This is my second one of these. First one lasted me around 15 years or so, and I paid a heck of a lot more at a local sporting goods store. I like to stream fish, and don't carry a lot of stuff with me, just what I know I will need. This creel is perfect for trout up to the 15" size or so, and the side pocket has plenty of space for the essentials. Oh, the last one, the strap broke when loaded with a nice limit of fish. Dry rotted I think. I could have just replaced the strap, but at this price, why bother?

A must have for a trout stream fisherman

An excellent product at a good price. It easily replaced my traditional (bulky) wicker creel and by wetting the fabric it really does help keep fish cool. My only (minor) concern is that the snap fastener on the flap is not easy to close one-handed so I may just remove it and replace it with velcro.
