Much better price then what I paid for embossing kit

I have the embossing kit and have finally used it. First off I want to say the price here is great as I paid over 75.00 usd. I had order this last September 2016 from Amazon. However the vendor did not have anymore and I had to cancel my order. The price was the same as I paid. I had to order from my local dealer and I did not get it till November of 2016. I had to wait several months for it to finally come in. I do like and I am now glad that Brother scan n cut is coming up to date with other die cutting machine manufactures. I did a test out on card stock and only made one pass but it did a very good job. I think with several passes over the paper and I used the 1.5mm tool that it would make a deeper impression. I like both sides of the test embossing. I can see this done on leather I think it would emboss beautifully. If you want the embossing tool and decide to buy here on Amazon. You are getting it for a reduced price which I think it is awesome. I know these accessories can get expensive for the Brother Scan n Cut die cutting machines. I wish I had really waited as I would have saved some money. For those of you that have the embossing kit I hope you enjoy it I know I will. I am looking forward to the foil kit and the other new accessories that could be coming in the future. I love my Brother scan n cut although it is not a wireless one. I have had a lot of fun and find my little simple creations to be an accomplishment and enjoyment. Fawn

Holding pattern

I bought this as a gift for my room mate. She was so happy to receive it but hasn't used it yet because the kit only came with 2 sheets of the embossing plastic and she can't decide on what pattern to cut out to emboss. The kit comes with several patterns that are downloaded into the machine when you activate the card in the kit and you can use these for other things besides embossing. She has used them with the universal pen holder to draw and has cut out some of the patterns too. She's cheap and is waiting till she can find a good deal on the plastic sheets used to cut out the embossing plastic, lol.

Worked as promised!

I liked the embossing feature and it was easy to install. The copper sheet was just a little thin so every lump or dip showed up in the final product.

Installing directions should be included

I couldn’t download the installing directions so I haven’t used it yet. Scan n cut is a wonderful machine. I would recommend it to every fabric or paper crafter

Brother Embossing kit for Scan N Cut 2

I really love this I haven't had a chance to use it yet but I will soon I am just trying to see more you tube video to help me use ti the right way

Not worth the cost

I received the Scan N Cut embossing kit today and couldn't wait to try it out. I'm disappointed. I first tried line embossing card stock because that's what I use the most and what I wanted to use the kit for. The "de-boss" side is fine on all weights of card stock that I tried, but the "emboss" side is not good on any weight. I believe the embossing mat will wear out quickly, but I will not purchase another Brother one because of the price. I'll try something else and tape down the card stock (it's just padding). The region embossing feature is very complicated and time-consuming. I'm retired and have the time, but others may not. I created a butterfly template from the included patterns. The embossed side was okay on foil card stock and Michael's shimmer paper, but again, the de-bossed side was better. The one sheet of template plastic included in the kit will not go far, so I'll try to find something locally to make my templates. My Scan N Cut will not cut quilting template plastic with the regular blade, so I know I won't be using that. I did discover that the plastic needs to be tinted like the one provided (or maybe the paper needs to be colored--didn't try that) for the machine to accurately scan the pattern. I did multiple embossing passes on both types of embossing, which did help. I did not try embossing on the metal sheets included, because I didn't want to waste them on something I didn't want/need. Bottom line, I do not believe the kit is worth the price. It's not even worth the discounted price I paid (I had a $15 Amazon coupon).

MISSING ...

Unfortunately this kit is missing a critical piece - the Adjustment sheet for region embossing is not in the pkg. I've looked for a way to email requesting this piece be mailed to me, but so far I've not found it. If not for this issue I would have given this a 5 star rating. Hoping for some resolution soon.

I am looking forward to using the embossing kit but wasn’t aware that I would have pay custom duties and taxes most disappointing. This should be mad clearer as it made the product more expensive.
