I have used this at different # ratings and always it preforms with an easy to tie know. the lighter grade leaves a lot of motion to the bait and lots of flat line hook up for mackeral.

Best Leader material on planet

i've been using this for about 8 years now. Mostly in the 35lb size and absolutely love it. To be honest it took me a while to figure out how to tie it. It's is not easy, but there are a lot of videos out there showing you how. Recently I've stopped tying it and am now using barrel crimp sleeves which work great. This prevents any weak points which can occur from tying and stretching the leader material, and eliminates the pointy tag end of the knots which WILL poke your fingers and hands eventually. Also eliminates any waste when building the leaders. Simply purchase crimp sleeves 3 times the diameter of the leader material you are purchasing. AFW makes a .033 size sleeve which works perfect for the 35lb leader material. As for strength, I've never had a leader break or kink. I spent a week in Canada catching 15-20 pike and used two leaders on two poles the entire week. Only retied once due to a line tangle. Most others leaders are destroyed after one or two big fish. I make them for both my spinning equipment trolling or casting for toothy walleye, northern and lake trout. To these I add a small barrel swivel on one end and duo lock snap on the other. I also make with the swivel for use as a leader for fly casting for northern and bass. The stiffness of the leader keeps the fly from getting tangled and results in a near perfect lay down almost every cast.
