I think its helping. Its not the only thing im doing with the pond, but its certainly nicer to use than the little floating hay bales!

Helps keep algae at bay in my betta tanks

I’ve been looking for a safe non-toxic way to help keep algae under control in my two planted betta tanks without hurting my bettas or plants and without harsh chemical algaecides. I saw another review mention using 5 drops for a 4 gallon hydroponics reservoir so I decided I would try 6-7 drops once or twice per week for my 5.5g after deep-cleaning both tanks to remove as much of the previous algae as possible. So far so good after two weeks, the algae seems to be kept mostly at bay - they still grow but extremely slowly compared to previously. I’m not trying to fully eliminate all the algae but just prevent it from growing out of control and give my aquarium plants a chance to grow better and this stuff seems to be helping me for just that. With it being so concentrated, as it’s normally meant for use in ponds, this stuff is actually surprisingly economical for use in smaller aquariums if you can figure out how many drops will suffice for the gallons of water in your aquariums.

Cleared up water overnight.

The small pond water was starting to get cloudy with scum. We added the barley extract in the evening and in the morning the water was clear. After 3 weeks the water is still clear. The rocks in the pond still have a slight green color, but no slim.

It had no effect on my pond. I followed instructions and it had no visible change in water Quality.
