Great way to paint straight lines

I didn't want to tape up my baseboards. Saw this being used in the "How to video," and decided to purchase one. I love. made painting baseboards and edges with ease. Just remember to wipe down after each section. Helped me paint my room in a few hours instead of spending hours on end taping and masking. Great product and well made.

This thing made a huge mess. We had paint everywhere. Make sure to wipe it each time you remove it from the wall.

Works alright- probably better in newer homes with perfect plumb walls

Works alright. Wall has to be perfect for the lines to come up 100% straight, but perhaps this is my old houses fault for being a little off at places

Well-built, but not great for my purpose

So, I'm not a painter by trade, so I bought this to assist with cutting in a room we were painting. Unfortunately, the way homes are built these days, it's just not an effective tool. If you have perfectly straight walls and corners, maybe, but if you have a home like most people these days...this will allow paint to go under and mess up your lines. It is a VERY well made straight edge, thick plastic handle and fairly thick metal edge. It could be an amateur's mistake, but I just didn't have much luck using it for cutting in.

Great tool to use. It is sturdy built and works good to keep paint from getting on the carpet when painting baseboards.
