Looked good but disappointing

Purchased to keep in garage and use mainly to clean cars. Sadly, multiple design flaws. Without the paper dust bag, the suction is good, but with the bag installed, the level of suction drops off dramatically. Came with a good array of tools, but no place to keep them. The tool hooks on the top of the unit are too small to be of use. Tools just fall off. In addition, some of the tools, like the long thin radiator tool require an adapter to fit the end of the hose. That's fine, except it adds a small additional took to keep track of. Cord is really too short. a 10 foot cord won't work on any car without the use of an extension cord.

IT FALLS OVER

I was vacuuming my aviary my from floor to ceiling, and the machine kept falling over on it's side unless I held it with my left hand. Even though the hose extends to 14 feet, whenever I pulled to extend it. the machine fell over. If it were on a wheel base this would not happen, It's a shame because the suction power is tremendous! it also lacks an extension tube to reach high places, which I solved by using others i had from my Shop Vacuum. I t also lacks a floor attachment which I also solved using one from my other machines. Since it is way too late to return this, I have placed it in a square bucket that has wheels; not a perfect solution but helps. My son is going to make me a platform out of fiberglass board, and attach wheels, since the machine only enters halfway into the bucket, and is somewhat top heavy, making it still susceptible to tip over with a strong pull. The hose is so tight, that I really have to pull hard to extend it, which also causes the falling over. I will send a photo later with ref. IT FALLS OVER

Great little vac

This small vac is a great little sucker! I wanted to clean a sticky car seat. I sponged clean water on the seat and used the vac to suck the dirty water out. I left the car outside in the sun to dry out. Presto! Clean car seat! I'm back to buy the plastic wand. Anybody know where I can find that?

I am operations manager for a large steel fabrication company and we generate quite a mess on a daily basis. I have several shop vacs here on site...the black round canisters on wheels everyone is familiar with. I wanted this one for myself and the employees personal use on autos and rvs etc. I researched and most portable vacs were 2 or 2.5 horses and just looked clumsy. This unit is 3.5 hp. and trim along with being light weight. It exceeded my expectations in every way, and the price is unbelievable. The power is amazing. If you activate the vac and just put your hand over the tip you can see the torque in this powerful little unit. And the noise level is half that of any other vac I have used. It actually has latches that secure the top of the unit to the body instead of those annoying tabs that you have to line up and hope for a secure seal. I am more than happy with my Workshop Wet/Dry vac and am purchasing one for my 82 year old father for Christmas this year to use out in his wood shop. Thanks for providing such a quality product at a great price. Sam

Great customer service and reasonable performance

This vacuum does a good as long as you do not the filter bag. Once the filter bag is in place, the suction is poor. I just use it in the shop and to clean the car and it does a fine job (no filter bag). The unit was missing an adapter which was replaced without a problem. Great customer service.

This Does Not Suck, but It's Attractive!

I was looking for a good wet/dry vacuum for automotive use that was small yet had excellent suction. This is a very attractive wet/dry vacuum that has some good attachments, is small enough to carry around, especially for using in a motor vehicle (it does not use the vehicle's 12V) but that's about it. I really wanted to keep it, especially because I previously sent back a portable one that uses the 12V of the vehicle. For the price, and that it works on 110~120V AC like other vacuums, it should have good suction. What it does have is lots of noise for very poor suction. Suction at the intake of the unit is just barely OK and when you add on an attachment with the hose (hose is very good and flexible) suction drops yet more. It may pick up what you're trying to pick up, but for the price - and the noise level - it should suck much more. Perhaps I had a faulty unit, but I don't think so. And it did look as if the box was opened before, so perhaps it was a unit that someone else sent back. Perhaps you'll have better luck, but I sent it back for a refund.

This thing "sucks" as well as a car wash vacuum!!!

I used this on my car recently and it's amazing! It's very light and easy to carry around or put on the car seat while you're vacuuming. BUT TWO WORKAROUNDS you should know: #1: DO NOT use the vacuum bag it comes with. It reduces the suction power to almost nothing. And it even says in the instructions that the bag IS OPTIONAL, not necessary for it to work properly. #2: it has a short cord so be sure to have a couple of extension cords handy. Other than those two things, it sucks just as well or even better than car wash vacs I've used! Very happy I chose this one after a lot of research!

Great suction that can be controlled, light weight.

I was pretty surprised at how small and light weight it was compared to my larger shop vac, yet it had the stronger suction power. 3.5 hp compared to 2 hp. I have been using it for smaller jobs, which I believe it is intended for...I'd get a larger vac if you want one for a Workshop or large area. I’ve used it for cleaning the interior of the car and it did a great job at picking up all the rocks on the mats and crumbs and stray hairs on the upholstery. I keep it in the garage to pick up little messes. It is it a lot easier to take out and use than my larger Shop Vac. I haven’t had the need to use the dust bag yet so I can’t say how well it perform with one on. My favourite part is that I can control the suction with the bleeder valve so I can lower the suction when needed. It isn’t something I’d use to replace my larger Shop Vac, but it will be used for about 75% of what I used to use it on.

Expect modest performance

Had to modify the inlet to permit solids so they didn't accumulate. I cut off the diverter within. A generous bag is compromised by the motor size. If used with dry filter it's almost useless. The motor could be much more powerful. The two horns for the wrapping the cord keeps that tidy. The flexible hose is very good quality and diameter. The nozzle attachment is hand.

I Absolutely Love It

I own a painting company and this vacuum makes it super easy to clean up any sanding dust and paint chips. It's super light and fairly maneuverable - although I would recommend getting an extension cord with it as the attached cord isn't too long. I haven't needed to try using it to clean up any wet messes, but it works great for dry messes.

Didn't come with two attachments in the photo

I was expecting a brush attachment as shown in the photo. Also, the hose is so short that you have to be right beside the machine, so you need hearing protection. It's not a particularly quiet design. A longer tube costs almost as much as the machine. The small size is good though and nice to lift with one hand.

Quality vac for price!

This vac has very strong suction and has thick walled sturdy hose and nozel. Best off all is the motor cooling air has its own fan and does not pass through the filter first as cheap shop vacs do. That way the motor always gets plenty of cooling even when the filter is clogged!
