Nice Light...

Had a dark area next to the front door of my mobile home, due to the previous owner installing a swamp cooler in the wrong location. Put a low wattage bulb in this cool looking fixture, and no more dark area. And though it work's properly, I only gave it 4 stars due to a couple of design flaws, which are'nt a big deal, but thought I should mention it. The mounting ears are not horizontal to the fixture, and the cage is not centered as well, when locked in place. But it certainly does not affect it's operation, and I will be buying another for the back of my home. A shout out to Amazon, this item was shown as 'used, like new' as the box was slightly damaged. I got a fair discount, and there is no damage to the light. Thank's Amazon..!

Good but Careful!

Good quality light, works nicely for my application. However, light cover arrived chipped and I sliced my hand on it.

This item was easy to install. It works great. I wouldn't say it's the best quality. When you put the round part over the bulb and tighten it, the screws will scratch the paint. I have no other complaints.

OK, but would not purchase again

These were purchased as part of an outdoor garden project. I already had 12 installed, but found I needed 3 more to finish. These have a shiney painted finish unlike the ones I had which are bare metal. Bare metal appears to be the normal finish in these units. Only mentioned if you need to match existing units. The main difference is the protective cage. Most seem to have a threaded cage that takes 6-8 full turns to secure, plus a set screw. I found the set screw was unnecessary as the cage secured quite well without their use. This unit has no threads, you make a quarter turn and then use 2 set screws to secure. The cage will just fall off without both set screws tightened down hard. Even then it takes very little effort to remove the cage with the set screws in place. If you need security against vandalism do not buy this unit, it will fail! I would not buy again, nor recommend. *************************************** I neither received nor solicited recompense in any form for this review. Brass color fades

These lights are plenty rugged and whatever, but the antique brass color fades to silver in the sun and weather, so if that's important to you, probably not the best choice.

Extremely sturdy, perfect for a light that gets bumped into

I used this in an attic with low ceilings, the light gets bumped into a lot. Be careful not to tighten the glass down too much -- just snug, then tighten down the "cage" and the friction screws to keep it in place. Tighten metal on metal, not glass on metal.

Classic Industrial Look; Easy Installation

Before I get into my review, here is a FYI on 'Silver' vs. 'Brushed Steel': At the time I ordered the 'Silver' one, the image was the same (duplicate) of the 'Brushed Silver' one - but when I got it, it was painted more of a battleship grey than silver. I returned the 'Silver' ones and got the 'Brushed Steel' and they look as pictured/what you'd expect. 1. Components: The fixture and guard is all metal, with a thick glass screw-in insert. The metal seems to be some kind of nonferrous pot metal, but solidly constructed. There is some clear indication that it's cast metal (rough edges), but this is rather minor in my opinion. Only the pickiest of buyers will notice/care. 2. Installation: I was just replacing existing fixtures, so I already had the location on my house wired. Installing them was very easy (this was also the first time I have ever installed a porch light). Note that it does *not* come with screws to affix the mounting plate to the side of your home, nor does it come with wire nuts (to join the wires from the light fixture to the wiring from your home). These are cheap to buy at any hardware store, but it's good to know this before you get ready to install. 3. Looks/functionality: I've only had these installed on my house for a couple days, but they work well and look fantastic. They cast the light well and the metal cage that protects the glass does not seem to affect the light or cast shadows in any significant way that I can detect. 4. Made in China. Just a FYI to those that want to know where it's made.

Smart Classic Industrial Lookand Feel

We haven’t had them installed on our new garage suite yet, but they are as pictured. They have a good sturdy look them that adds the “industrial look”. We are pleased but when we do have them installed and lit I hope to update this review with a picture.

Sturdy and looks great

Love this light, hung it on our vintage travel trailer and use a 12V LED bulb. Sturdy and well made, comes with rubber gaskets that seal everything up.
