Adding another Wiz

I have decided to buy Wiz from now on because they are so easy to set up with Google Home. Here the switch is working through the surge protected side of my battery backup. I haven't tried it on the battery side, just the surge protector side. When I announce to Ms. Google that I am up for the day she turns this switch (among other tasks) to turn off my electric blanket. I also have Google check it when we leave the house. Peace of mind for old forgetful folk.

It does exactly what I need it to do.

I have a WiFi Security cam that, once in a while, goes offline. I have to unplug it, wait 30 seconds, and plug it back in. That's a real problem when you're on the road. This device, via the Wiz app allows me to reset it from anywhere. I'm so thrilled! The only reason I gave it three stars for the setup is that it took way too many tries to get it connected, compared to the same device purchased a couple months ago, for a similar sec cam. Possibly my problem, but since it connected, no problems! I could find uses for a dozen of these devices.

Great product

Used it for kitchen and dining room. They are single pole switches after I found out you must use a white wire (did not have one previous) connected the installation was easy and simple to use. I have been a fan of Wiz products for years now and highly recommend them and love their app.

NOT FOR USE WITH WIZ or other SMART BULBS, but…

So far so good! My only complaint is that this was not clear until I read the back of the package: "Do not use this dimmer to control WiZ smart bulbs or other brands of smart bulbs." As far as I can tell WiZ makes no manual switch, other than their remote, with which you can control their bulbs. EDIT: I ended up using one of these in a different location in my house, with ordinary, dimmable LEDs. The fixture I was replacing had hard-attached wires for connecting to the house wiring. This meant I had to scare up a couple of short pieces of suitable wire, as the WiZ dimmer does not come with any. Connecting was pretty straightforward, as long as you can figure out your line and load connections, and, of course, have a neutral in the box as well. As always, if you’re uncertain, it’s better to hire an electrician than hurt yourself. My only other complaint is that for some reason the mounting screws provided with the unit would not engage in the holes in my pre-existing plastic box. After wrestling with it for a few minutes, I removed them and substituted the screws from the old fixture which engaged and fit just fine. The unit is large enough that you want your wiring to be well tucked back into the box. Connecting to Wi-Fi requires using your Wi-Fi capable phone, and I had a couple of false starts before I tried the manual process, which went pretty smoothly. Alexa popped up right away (on my phone) to offer a connection, which is very helpful. I can now turn off or on, and dim my dining room chandelier. Two thumbs up.

good idea ,works almost as expected

first of all pairing instructions inside are misleading. to pair the wireless button in the Wiz app you need to address it as a remote control, this little thing is not written in the instruction and i had to reach to Wiz support. the button is working as expected ,it has a built in magnet so it can be placed on the refrigerator\main door\etc which is great, however, i wanted it to control the 5 blubs i have in the kitchen, not sure why when i first installed it ,it managed to control only 1 bulb , and than removed and added again from the app and i was able to control 3, did same thing again and now i can control 4 out of 5 , hopefully some day it will turn on and off all the 5 bulbs :D .

Simple Install and Set Up

Having bought a Wiz light bulb a while back I was impressed with the ease of set up and use compared to some products I have used. I ordered these 2 Wiz switches and couldnt be more pleased. Just like the bulbs in regards to set up. I do wish the switch itself or center button cover came in other colors like Ivory or Almond. I am using a standard Decora cover plate. Also not impressed with V2 of the app and went back to the original app. It does all I need. Great buy.

Un WiZmote por habitación!?!?!?!? Really?????

Solo lo puedes programar para que funcione en una sola habitación. Si tienes varias habitaciones con varios focos WiZ, no te sirve para nada. Mejor la app la vdd. A parte si tienes 4 focos en una habitación y quieres solo controlar uno, tampoco se puede. Es TODA la habitación. Lo ideal sería que funcionara independiente con cada plafón, tira...

Es un accesorio realmente sorprendente, aunque no facil de instalar

Estuve investigando como podría configurar este accesorio, porque realmente la ayuda no es muy explícita en la página de WIZ, que la verdad, hay que recomendarles que den un soporte mas explicativo para los usuarios, porque sus dispositivos inteligentes son realmente buenos y con una integración más que satisfactoria. Una vez comprendiendo como se debe integrar al ecosistema de WIZ todo es mas sencillo. OJO solo funciona con luces WIZ, no de otra marca, no es para mezclar con otras marcas. Al agregarse pareciera que no aparece en la habitación donde se ha agregado, pero en realidad está en ACCESORIOS, y ahi hay que ingresar, fijar a la habitación donde la luz será automatizada por el movimiento. Se indica la duración por la que la luz permanecerá encendida al detectar movimiento. Se cambia el valor en minutos para omitir detección después de haber apagado o encendido manualmente la luz. Una vez establecido eso, funciona de maravilla. IMPORTANTE: Dentro del dispositivo donde se colocan las pilas hay un selector tipo interruptor que se establece desde donde se espera el dispositivo detecte movimiento, desde la izquierda (L) o la derecha (R) hágase la configuración tomando estos detalles, nada de forma instantánea o sin paciencia de otro modo solo van a escribir reseñas de frustración, no funciona, etc. Sensor de movimiento WIZ para uso en luces UNICAMENTE WIZ. Ojalá el fabricante haya un video tutorial con todos los pasos correctos para la puesta en marcha, porque vale la pena la inversión, pero sin un instructivo real, deja mucho que desear.

ESTO ES MAGIA ... LEE ESTA RESEÑA Y TE CONVENCERÁS

Compre una serie de luces normales para la pergola de mi terraza y es padrisimo llegar a casa y tener encendidos los foquitos y apagarla o prenderla desde la app. TENGO PROGRAMADO EL ENCHUFE Y UN FOCO WIZ DE MI GARAGE PARA QUE SE ENCIENDAN Y SE APAGUEN A DETERMINADA HORA, LLEVO SIN INTERNET 1 SEMANA( X CUESTIONES DE LA COMPAÑIA DE INTERNET) Y LO MAS SORPRENDENTE ... EL FOCO Y EL ENCHUFE SIGUE ENCENDIENDO Y APAGANDO A LA HORA PROGRAMADA AUN SIN EL INTERNET. Obvio los que no programe no funcionan más que manualmente como foco normal pero ESTOS ME HAN DEJADO IMPACTADA

Buen atenuador inteligente. Considerar el diseño

Es fácil de instalar y configurar. El único detalle que no gustó es que el botón de ajuste de iluminación se siente como un defecto en el apagador (un borde como rebaba gruesa), aunque es cuestión de gustos (a mi me es indistinto, pero a mi familia no le ha gustado). Un tema aparte es que, para configurar usa protocolo UDP, que es bloqueado por defecto en algunos extensores de red como los DECO de TP-LINK, y eso impide la configuración en la aplicación móvil. Si el switch se conectará a una red WIFI con DECO, hay que hacer unos trucos para lograr la configuración: Usar una red temporal con el mismo nombre y contraseña que la red del DECO, configurar el switch en la APP, y conectar el switch a la red del DECO, apagando la red temporal.
