Good quality and thoughtful design

Our spätzle maker arrived this afternoon and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality and thoughtful design. One nice feature is a ribbed tab that protrudes like a finger from the front of the spätzle maker that overhangs the lip of your boiling water and provides support as you squeeze the handle. The product is made by Westmark in Germany, has an easily removable hinge pin to allow for easy cleaning, and the extrusion template has a random pattern that produces spätzle that looks handmade. Only criticism is that this product would be stronger were it made of steel rather than aluminum: I get the sense that if you drop this spätzle maker onto the floor, the aluminum tab or handles could possibly break. Overall, a good product and we are pleased with the purchase. Time to make the sauerbraten!

Probably the best around.

I have had many spaetzle presses. This is one of the best around. Well-built and sturdy. But it is the nature of all of these to be difficult to clean. Immediately after use, immerse and soak it in water.

This is by far the best Spätzle press I have used in 20 years of making them. Restaurant quality sturdiness and easy to clean. No parts that come loose of move around while pressing. My noodles came out straight, consistent and perfect

Similar to hand made Spätzle

Very easy to use and to clean up (just use cold water). The irregular shaped holes look like they can't possibly work, but actually make spätzle noodles that are a little bit rough and irregular, just like hand-made, but in less time. Excellent for those who like a somewhat rustic hand-made type of Spätzle, without needing a lot of skill and practice. The other Westmark press with the round holes makes very regular round noodles.

Works like a charm!

Does what it is supposed to do. Also like that it can be taken apart for easy cleaning. Only wished it came with additional 'washer' for fitting! You have to be really careful not to loose it because it is so small, not sure what could be used instead to hold the two parts together.

Works well

The unit works well but be advised this thing is large, it weighs nearly 2 pounds and is 16+ inches long, so if your storage space is limited this may not be for you unless Spätzle is something you plan to eat on a regular basis. That said with normal use it could easily last a lifetime but if Spätzle is something you only make once in a while something simpler that would store more easily might be a better option

Qualität ungenügend.

Ich habe diese Spätzlepresse bestellt da ich auch gern die deutschen Unternehmen unterstützen möchte. Was aber die Qualität angeht ist es nur noch traurig was unter dem Namen Made in Deutschland vertrieben wird. Wie kann es ein, dass die Griffe nicht ordentlich abgeschliffen sind. Scharfe Kanten inklusive. Firma Westmarkt was ist das für eine Endkontrolle.

Mhmm...lecker! Super Gerät!

Wir Zuhause lieben Spätzle in jeder nur erdenklichen Form. Natürlich kann man sich auch die fertigen Spätzle aus der Tüte kaufen. Das geht schnell und ist ok. Zum Amazon Prime-Day war dann auch diese Presse im Angebot und landete sofort im "Einkaufswagen". Die Presse ist sehr massiv und kann gut und einfach gereinigt werden. Das beiliegende Rezept wurde dann gleich verwendet um eine "Bolognese-Spätzle-Lasagne" zu zaubern und was soll ich sagen? Die Spätzle waren ein Traum; ja das ganze Gericht war ein Traum (es liegt nur ein Spätzle-Rezept bei). Die Optik der Spätzle, die Dicke, die Länge...alles perfekt. Es muss auch überhaupt kein Kraftaufwand für die Spätzle aufgebracht werden und schnell zubereitet sind sie außerdem noch. Ab sofort gibt es öfter mal Spätzle in den verschiedensten Gerichten. Eine lohnende Investition! Ein Brett kam für uns nicht in Frage, da es sicher etwas schwieriger in der Handhabung ist und der Shaker... naja...muss auch nicht sein :)

Püree auf die schnelle Art

Die Zeiten mit dem Kartoffelstampfer sind endlich vorbei. Es ist so einfach mit dieser Kartoffelpresse Püree zu zaubern. Spätzle habe ich noch nicht ausprobiert, da ich bis dato meine Spätzle immer über die Reibe mache. Aber auch dies werde ich bald mal ausprobieren. Am schnellsten bekommt man den Püree übrigens hin, wenn die Kartoffeln vorher gut gewaschen und mit Schale gekocht werden. Nach dem die Kartoffel gekocht sind, werden sie mit schale in die Kartoffelpresse gelegt und gepresst. Die Kartoffelschale bleibt an der Presse so dass man sie einfach nur entfernen muss und die nächsten Kartoffeln presst. So spart man sich das schälen der Kartoffeln :)

Spatzenmaschine

Meine alte Kull hat recht kleine, runde Löcher, und deshalb sahen die Spatzen eher wie Spaghetti aus. Ich legte mir nun die Westmark-Maschine zu, um ein wenig unregelmäßigere Spatzen zu bekommen. Der erste Versuch ist gelungen. Ich war überrascht, dass trotz des relativ großen Teigbehälters so wenig Kraftaufwand beim Durchdrücken nötig war, obwohl ich den Teig ziemlich fest bereitet hatte (so wie für die alte Maschine). Die Reinigung gestaltete sich sehr einfach. Es empfiehlt sich aber unbedingt, die Maschine gleich nach dem Gebrauch bis zum Abwasch in kaltes Wasser zu legen, damit die Teig- oder Kartoffelreste nicht antrocknen. Ich bin sehr zufrieden mit diesem Küchengerät.
