This is the third manufacturer of recessed LED lights that I've tried and, at least initially, it appears to be clearly the best build quality, but I guess we'll have to see how they hold up. The first manufacturer was installed initially by my home builder in late 2018. They are a well known, global manufacturer of LED lighting. My home as >20 of these light and, within the 18 months, 3 of them had failed, all within the span of a couple of months. Trying to get a replacement was a nightmare because the vendor refused to honor the warranty without proof of purchase, which I had, but it didn't meet their requirement. I eventually gave up and purchased a set of 4 replacements for those units from another vendor. The replacements I ordered were from a vendor that was one of the first hits on an Amazon search and were much less expensive. While they appeared clearly cheaper quality, they at least seemed to work OK, but now, barely over a year later, one has already failed. I will have to say that the vendor was quick to honor the warranty and ship a free replacement, and the other 3 are still working, so we'll see how they continue to go, but, since I didn't want to wait a full week for the replacement, I decided to order a replacement set for this main area and my searching led me to this light. Initial out of box impressions are that this light is much higher build quality from the other two. It has a full metal enclosure, and allows you to easily spin the light after install, which important for aligning lights with a square frame. The light is also quite a bit brighter than the lower cost replacement for the same energy rating and puts out a slightly less "red" tint in the light that I much prefer. Of course it remains to be seen how reliable this light it, but at least based on the initial build, I'm hopeful and, while it's a good bit more expensive than the lowest cost replacement, it looks better, is easier to install, provides more light, and is still cheaper than the initial lights I had from the big name vendor. I'm crossing my fingers that these will last.
