Just like original. Good value

Don't buy the original. This company makes an excellent replacement filter at a good price and value. Very pleased.

Suitable replacement, but not quite the quality of the OEM replacement

The filter works as advertised. It fits and filters fine. My only worry is that it fits much more loosely than the original filter in my LG refrigerator. You can easily turn it back and forth, with no locking to its placement. It can be easily spun with one finger, where my OEM filter was tight enough to requires the grip of your whole hand to turn. I worry that in time it might start moving itself loose from pressure, somI check it often. It doesn't leak though, so that is just something to watch going forward. I would buy this again, because it is much cheaper than the original and it does the job well. My water and ice cubes had started to taste off with my old filter, but after this change, everything was resolved.

It's necessary to change them

If you don't change the filter periodically it will weaken it's ability to do it's job, filtering the water.

Refrigerator replacement water filters

First, I went to Home Depot where I bought the LG refrigerator. I was told that they do not stock these filters and was also not told that I could order them. So I went looking online. My first stop in online shopping is always Amazon.com. There were several products for sale at different prices and in different quantities, so I chose the one that I viewed as the best "deal". I easily replaced the old one with one of the new ones and I still have a spare for sometime down the road. I don't need to replace them every 6 months as suggested by the packaging because I have a "whole house water filter" in the line before the refrigerator, which pre-filters all the water used in the house. I always seem to find exactly what I am looking for at Amazon.com, and this time was no exception. A good product at a good price - and AVAILABLE!!!!

Great replacement

I always check reviews and this product was well regarded. Since this was the first filter I had to purchase I was shocked at the roughly $63 cost for the real thing. I received the filter the next day ( helps to live close to a fulfillment center) and installed it with ease. I did have to run water through the filter for a couple of days before it tasted "normal." This was clearly more than the 3 gallon flush that is recommended. Not certain why it took so long but all is well and really worth saving a ton of money.

I just received this 2 pack of water filters in the mail last night. I installed the filter as instructed in a Kenmore 795 series filter, and leaking did occur. All you have to do is take off the o-rings of this filter and replace them with the o-rings from the original Kenmore OEM filter. Once I put the OEM o-rings on the Water Sentinel replacement filter, IT WORKS FLAWLESSLY. I am very happy that this product exists because I don't have the money to spend $34 on ONE filter. This is a great budget buy!

Perfect replacement fit

Fit perfectly in my LG refrigerator. I like the fact it came with silicon grease for the seals. Apply sparingly. Ran 4 quarts through it to prime the filter and had very little residue or color. Water tastes great and pressure is good. 1/2 the price of the local box stores. My only complaint is that it seems to add quite a bit of turbulence to the water flow. Where we used to have a quiet single stream, it's now quite noisy and seems to splash more. Could be the increased pressure.

Just a bad one, I don't know...

I bought the 2 pack for my LG several months ago and just got around to installing one. Following the instructions, I lubed the O rings and seated it in place. I ran about 32 oz. of water and all of a sudden I heard a pop. I opened the refrigerator door and water was running out all over the place. I re-seated the filter and tried again but water was flowing everywhere. I put the old LG filter back in, everything works fine. I checked the O rings on the Water sentinel and they look fine so I tried 2 more times but each time it continued to leak (not just a drip but a lot of water). After looking at the filter to see if both the LG and the WS looked the same I saw that the holes between the O rings on the WS are much smaller and in a different position than on the LG. I have no idea if this makes a difference but, there is certainly something wrong. Our water pressure, the last time I checked was at 55, well within the 30-100 they recommend, so I don't think that is the problem. I am hesitant to try the other WS filter that I have, I may just toss it because even if it does work initially I don't trust it and don't want my refrigerator full of water. I certainly didn't save any money by not buying the OEM version.

Works great for me

Very satisfied customer. I have used the first cartridge over one year (despite recommendation of changing it every 6 month) and I have not seen any change in water taste at the end of that period. In my case my water tap does not have a lot of mineral but it has this bad chlorine sub-product taste and the filter is good at removing that bad taste. On thing I should say is to fit it in my LG refrigerator I had to bevel the intake a little bit with a knife otherwise it would be hard to insert it. Otherwise I did not have any problem.

Does the job

At about half the price of an OEM LG filter, this was an option to definitely consider. It took a lot of water to cycle throught the fridge until it came out clear (I would estimate 24 litres), but it's running well now. Water taste is good, and so far no issues. Will likely repeat this purchase at $45 for 2 filters.

Product fits and works as it should.

Ordered the two pack, the filter fits perfect and the water tastes fine. As usual it takes a while to get the air out of the system after the switch. At roughly half the cost of LG filter I would order them again.
