4/3/16 update- replacement clippers are still going strong, so that's good. I realized, though, one other feature the clippers desperately need is a low battery indicator (maybe an LED light or something) that lights up when you have around 30 minutes of use left (at least enough time for one more haircut). I used to leave my clippers charging all the time, but in my current living situation it has become a little more of a nuisance to do so. So now when I use it, I'm always wondering if it's going to run out of juice in the middle of my haircut. A low battery indicator would help me to charge it only as often as necessary. --- 4/20/15 update- About 3 weeks ago, I went to charge my clippers but the blue charging indicator did not turn on. I discovered my clippers could no longer charge or receive power even when plugged in. It was completely dead and unusable, after owning it for only a little over a year. (With my use I only need to charge it about once every month or two so the problem could have happened as much as two months ago and I just didn't know until 3 weeks ago.) I called Wahl and they said it has a 5 year warranty and that I could ship it to them and that they would send me a free fixed or replacement clippers within 2 to 3 weeks. So that's what happened and now I have working clippers again (so far). They look like the same clippers I sent them judging by the wear, but now the clippers charge. They also sent me a new different looking charger in addition to my old original charger. They put a note on the old charger saying not to use it anymore, so apparently that charger was at least partly to blame for the malfunction. Granted it's not ideal that the clippers stopped charging in the first place, and that I had to be without my clippers for a couple weeks, and having to package and ship the clippers is a bit of a chore, but otherwise the customer service was good and the replacement process was relatively painless. The only thing I wish they did was pay for my shipping. I had to pay to ship to them, and they paid to ship to me. It would have been nice if they emailed me a paid shipping label to print out. Hopefully these clippers don't have the same charging problem after another year. If it does I'll be sure to update this review. Also I should note.. I'm not sure... but it seems like these clippers are louder than they were before. It could be my imagination. In any case, I compared them to my corded Wahl clippers and it's at least 3 times louder. The corded clippers sound like a faint electric whir, while the wireless clippers sound like a loud mechanical buzz. Not a deal-breaker for me, but if you're sensitive to that kind of thing, or if you are giving a haircut to a young child who might get scared, it could be an issue. I'm lowering my rating to 3 stars from my original rating of 4 stars, because though the customer service was good, I still had to go through the hassle of replacing the clippers, plus I had to pay for my own shipping, and also I realize now how loud the clippers are. --- (Original review) I had another Wahl clipper which served me very well for many years (and still works perfectly actually), but I really wanted cordless clippers, so I got the Lithium Ion. I've had it for a couple months now and have used it a handful of times cutting my own hair, and as expected it works great and is much more convenient being cordless. Note- I can't review the included trimmer because I've never used it. I really didn't want it in the first place but it didn't seem possible to buy the clippers by itself. First off, cordless anything is awesome, and these clippers are no exception. No more spinning around, ducking under the cord, worrying about where to plug in, messing with extension cords--it's great. I can't say much about battery life and charging, except that in my usage I've had no problems. Unfortunately my haircuts are too brief (10 min) to test the battery. And I always leave the clippers plugged in and charging when I'm not using it (according to the manual, it can't overcharge, which is a very convenient feature). Of course, the clippers' main function is to cut hair, and like my previous corded Wahl clippers, these do it perfectly. There's not much else I can think of to say regarding that. It just works. Wahl seems to make great quality clippers that last for a long long time. I have a feeling these are going to follow in that same tradition. The only major complaint I have about the clippers is that the weight is not balanced. Most of the weight is in the head/clipper area, not the handle, so it ends up feeling top heavy and not entirely secure in the hand. I feel like I might accidentally drop it so I'm very conscious about holding it tightly. I'm considering somehow attaching some sort of weighted material to the bottom of the clippers to make it more balanced, but haven't thought of a good plan yet. Two more minor things... - Because of the shape of the body of the clippers, when you pivot the blade length adjusting lever, the body of the clippers slightly interferes with the movement of the lever. So if you try to pivot the lever while slightly pressing down on it (haphazardly with say, your thumb), it will catch on the body of the clippers and get stuck. You have to consciously move the lever a certain way so that it doesn't catch on the body. I've gotten used to it so it's not a big deal for me, especially since I don't adjust the lever often. Nevertheless this seems like a very plain oversight in design and it makes me wonder how an obvious design flaw like this could have made it past product testing. - Corded clippers usually have a little rubber loop where the cord meets the clippers, used to hang the clippers on a hook. This can be very useful and it would be great if these clippers had a rubber loop too. (edit- or a lanyard?) Despite these few issues, I don't regret buying these clippers. The pros definitely outweigh the cons for my use. I highly recommend them.
