Really great easy to learn 2 player deck builder!

Fantastic little game and easy to learn. My 10yo loves it. Cards are a bit flimsy but overall really fun game!

Game that lives up to the hype

Overall pretty amazing game. Fairly easy to learn. Some strategy involved. Really enjoy the changing landscape and missions. Unique with deck building and turn by turn actions. Only concern will be replay ability after gone through all the missions. Have not used the expansion yet with it. Other concern would be that the missions could take a long time given the limited movement on the map and luck needed to take out your opponent. Would highly recommend if you're looking for a two player game to play consistently/ regularly with another person.

Great game

What a game. Excellent mechanics (deck building, plus hex and counter tactical combat). A bit of luck in the shuffle and the dice rolling. Have loved it so far. About halfway through the different scenarios.

A fun chess-style deck builder

I bought this game after seeing numerous reviews online. It plays very well, with the deck building aspect of the game requiring several interesting decision points for how you want to play. This is not a game for those who are light gamers. There are many moving parts and keywords, so some general gaming experience is required. Not a bad thing, but consider before buying. One downside, so far many of the missions have felt favored for the American side, with Germans having to scrape wins from lucky dice or Americans getting unlucky draws. So early campaign, expect some losing if you play Germans, but they do get better in the back half.

Excellent two player strategy that plays in 30-60 minutes!

A super clean and deceptively strategic war-game, Undaunted: Normandy is a top-notch two player game. Pitting Germans vs Americans in a dozen different WW2 scenarios with varying goals, you can easily play through as one side, then switch and play through all 12 scenarios again with quite a different experience. The game can be learned in about 10 minutes. You’ll setup map tiles according to the scenario book, then give each side their starting area and units. This won’t be the same for each side which is where the variety comes in. However all the units function the same on each side which makes it easy to tell the state of the board at a glance, or what everyone’s soldiers or snipers do. Area control is usually the name of the game in most scenarios, but some have fun objectives such as the germans having to kill all the american rifleman to win, while the americans have to capture a control point at the far side of an open field. I found the game to be tense and balanced so far in every scenario. We’ve taken turns winning across various maps and each one came down to a final turn or action before the other could or would have won. While there is dice rolling involved for attacking, all other actions simply take place without dice or interference. This is probably my only knock on the game, as being a victim of bad rolls can simply lose you the game, such as failing to kill a soldier 5 times in a row. However this is simultaneously thematic, as war is hectic. Thematically the game feels amazing and just plays really smoothly and organically. Everything makes sense and my buddy and I love the flow of deck, hand, discard and supply. He said “Playing this round was both depressing and exciting, just like war itself.” I’ve been playing much bigger or longer games that take 2-4 hours per session, but wanted something more accessible. We are usually done Normandy in an hour including setup and teardown for one scenario. Love it!

Fun and just the right level of complexity.

This game is a lot of fun if you are into war gaming, board games, or WW2. Dynamic campaign and the ability to make your own maps make this game endlessly replayable

Good game

The more I play, the more I enjoy. And the more I play, the more of the subtle strategies and tactics are revealed, especially the role of Scouts later on in the game when their primary role (scouting) wanes due to limited number of places to scout in a practical manner.

Ein neues Standard-Wargame

Undaunted: Normandy hat das Zeug zu einem Klassiker für zwei Personen, die Strategie mögen und sich nicht am Hintergrund Zweiter Weltkrieg reiben. Die Grundregeln sind schnell begriffen, das Spiel geht schnell und knackig und man lernt allmählich immer mehr in jedem neuen Szenario hinzu. Die Kartensteuerung ist fein austariert, Würfeln nicht entscheidend, nur Beiwerk für die möglichen Entscheidungen: welche Karten spiele ich wann und welche Funktion der einzelnen Karte nutze ich jetzt ? Schön gestaltetes und wertiges Spielmaterial, auch der Preis geht in Ordnung. Klare Kauf- und Spielempfehlung für Wargame-Fans. Für deutsche Spieler kann die Anleitung auch auf Deutsch heruntergeladen werden.

Defective Product

Was finally able to get this to the table and found over half the land tiles had large scratches through them. I've attached a picture of one of the tiles to give you an idea. This was purchased for Christmas, but I wasn't able to play it until today, so the return window has passed. I didn't think a board game that was in its original plastic wrap would need to be inspected for defects like this. Very disappointed about this, especially since it is an AMAZING game that will get a lot of plays. It would be great if something can be done about this, but I am not holding my breath.

A perfect game.

I gave my nephews a number of great games for Christmas. This is the game we all wanted to play over and over again. A perfect balance of card game and tactical board game. Great for fans of either. Easier to set up than Memoir 44, plays faster, but still satisfies that tactical itch. The small unit size also gets you attached to individual characters. Half of the fun was writing up after action reports, giving out medals to deserving soldiers, creating a campaign narrative. I can't wait to try Undaunted: North Africa. But, in the meantime, I recently discovered another masterpiece game by these same designers: War Chest. THAT is my absolute favourite game of all right now.

Nice game but LOW REPLAYABILITY

This is a nice neat little game but one note : There are 12 scenarios, played one by one. When you're done the 12, the game is done. This is perfectly fine for some game collectors/players. Others may wish to be alerted about this aspect of the game.

Nice Board Game

Nice box to store everything, package came on time and nicely wrapped. The game itself is fun, last about 2 hours and is very interesting for WW2 buffs.
