I use this for my bicycle

I use it combined with a bike alarm. But only because I am never far away from my bicycle. It’s merely to keep someone from jumping on and taking off if I’m sitting at park or coffee shop but with my bicycle nearby.

Great sturdy system and gives me peace of mind when I am not in my room. Allows me to leave bag while I go on daily excursions.

Good cable. Questionable lock.

I bought this for the cable only. It works well to secure your bags against opportunistic, snatch and run thieves. I will attach my bag to something sturdy while I'm staying in a hostel or swimming and I at least have the piece of mind that someone can't casually walk away with my bag. They will at least have to make some noise and hopefully draw attention to themselves. The cable is pretty thin but sturdy enough that I don't think I could break it by pulling on it. If I had a good knife or some pliers I'm confident that I could get through it fairly quickly. I wouldn't recommend using the lock. I use a bit of a heavier duty lock on mine. I don't like the TSA access because anyone with a key can open it up with no problems. Plus it feels a bit weak. Overall it works well for my applications.

Great lock for a traveling backpacker!

This product worked great for what I ordered it for - I was backpacking with an Osprey backpack for about two weeks in South America and was looking for a something that I could use to "lock" it up if needed. I realize that 1) it's a backpack so it's not failproof and 2) it's thin enough to be cut off if someone really wanted to. But as a quick deterrent or for peace of mind, it did a great job. I had plenty of wire to work with to string through the various loopholes and openings in the backpack to keep it pretty secure - couple that with a zip tie in the zippers for the bottom flap, and I felt pretty confident leaving it back at the hotel when we didn't have a safe, or stowed away during a day trip elsewhere. Given it met my expectations, held up well, and stored away well, I give it 5 stars.

Adequate for what it is.

Look, this won't stop someone determined to get at your stuff, but it's enough to stop the average person from opening whatever it is you have locked. The cable that comes with it is very thin and flimsy, again won't stop a pro or a very determined person, but will slow them and/or deter the average Joe looking for a quick heist. Use it for what it is and not to safeguard your family jewels and you'll be OK. With that in mind this is a good product at a fair price, for sure.

Peace of Mind for Backpacking Southeast Asia for 7 Months.

This is a great kit. I have been in SE Asia for about 7 months now and take this with me wherever I go; Hotels, hostels you name it. Some Hostels don't have lockers so, I lock my backpack and string it up to something permanent in the room, sure its not 100% safe but you just added extra security and made it A LOT MORE difficult for someone to steal from you. Also, many hostels require a security deposit or charge for locks, thats where the lock comes in oh so handy! its small and cute and can hook onto your daypack when you're not using it. Its also very easy to set the combination. If you do a lot of traveling or need added security for something and don't want a big bulky lock, this is the kit for you!

However the entire situation of the first failing was a terrible headache. So much so that the new one ...

The first one completely failed and got stuck in the locked position. Literally went through every possible combination on the off chance it had changed by accident, and nothing. I had locked a bag to a fixed object while on the road, and suddenly it was permanently attached. So we got wire cutters and started to go to work on the cable, and about halfway through, as I yanked on the cable with the cutters, the lock suddenly sprung open. However, was then stuck in the open position (with the correct combination in place, mind you). The upside was that I was able to send the faulty one back for a replacement, and had no problems with the process. However the entire situation of the first failing was a terrible headache. So much so that the new one just sits in a drawer unused, as I can't bring myself to rely on it.

Super thin cable. Over-priced.

I thought the cable is about the thickness of most laptop cables. Wrong; not even close. The product picture (first picture) gives optical illusion, even though it was taken straight from the product packaging. Exact same size. I was in absolute disbelief when I received the package. The cable is very very thin, and by comparison, the combination lock that comes with it, is disproportionately big. Their pairing look a bit ludicrous and hardly complement each other. If such a thin cable is to deter or prevent "grab and go" at the airport, train station etc only, a small lock is sufficient and the whole set can be less conspicuous. I have not opened the package to test the lock, as I will look for another chain lock that can do a better security job for my travel needs, and look into returning this product.

Excelente Candado

He tenido estos candados ya por varios años. Lo que me gustó de este candado en particular es el hecho que puedes sujetar muchos más objetos que únicamente cerrar zipers de maletas. Por ejemplo puedes sujetar varias maletas, cascos de bici o moto, chamarras, etc. Sumamente fácil de poner tu combinación, fácil de acarrear, y te brinda seguridad. Ojo: no es un candado indestructible, pero cualquier ratero va a pensar dos veces antes de querer meterse con tus cosas.

Hochwertiges Schloss und nützliches Stahlkabel

Der erste Praxis Test steht noch aus, aber die Schlösser machen einen super hochwertigen Eindruck. Da ich fast ausschließlich Rucksackreisen mache, finde ich auch das Stahlkabel super - ideal um den Rucksack zu sichern, wenn man ihn kurz aus den Augen lassen muss.

Lock does not work

We followed the directions to a t however when it came time to push the lock back down it just wouldn't go. I would not buy again.
