Excellent Gate for my Purpose / Amazon Customer Service Outrageously Bad
I bought this gate to keep my German Shepherd in my walk-in shower when she has her bath. It is perfect for that purpose. It is well-built and amazingly sturdy for the price. For my purposes I do not have to put it between two spaces so I am not commenting on how that aspect of the gate works. My girl is 11 1/2 years old and when she sees a gate she knows she’s not supposed to go past it and she doesn’t even attempt to do so. She just patiently stands behind it and has her bath. Since I don’t know where else to put this information I’m going to add it here. I just had an unbelievable experience with Amazon.com Customer Service. Two days ago I ordered a baby gate to use for my German Shepherd Gabi who has just been diagnosed with cardiomyopathy. It was supposed to be delivered in one day which would’ve been yesterday. When I checked online they showed it in front of somebody’s door, it just wasn’t my door. I called customer service to get the situation rectified. After an explanation of what happened I was transferred to Amazon logistics which was the group that delivered the package. The people answering the phone were in the Philippines and that is where my saga actually begins. I was on the phone for over an hour with Amazon logistics. I spoke with three people the first being a woman whose name I don’t have. After 30 minutes of back-and-forth the woman that I spoke with told me that she couldn’t tell me where the package had been delivered. She told me that she couldn’t get another one to me today because it was a holiday. She told me the best she could do was get it to me on Saturday. After considerable discussion, I accepted the Saturday delivery. As soon as I accepted the Saturday delivery she told me she couldn’t get it to me until Monday. During our discussions I repeatedly asked to speak to a supervisor. She told me that there was no point in my speaking to a supervisor because they would just tell me the same thing she was telling me. I could hear a male voice in the background telling her what to say to me. Needless to say I was getting more and more aggravated with the situation. She told me that she couldn’t connect me to a supervisor unless I could give her the name of someone to whom I wanted to speak. I told her that was ridiculous. I didn’t know who was a Customer Service supervisor at Amazon and could not give her a name. Finally, I told her I don’t care what you are saying the supervisor can or cannot do I want to speak to a person with more authority than you have. She reluctantly transferred me to Mike. As soon as he told me his name was Mike I realized that his voice sounded suspiciously like the person who had been telling the woman what to say to me. I knew he wasn’t going to help me so after some discussion I told him that I needed to speak with an Amazon customer service representative not someone from Amazon logistics. I made it absolutely clear that I did not want to speak with someone from Amazon logistics, but only a supervisor from Amazon Customer Service. At that point I was transferred to Arjay. I immediately asked Arjay where he was located. He told me he was in the Philippines. Our connection was very poor so I was having a difficult time hearing him. There was a tremendous amount of static and rustling on the line so I told him there was no point in my speaking to him. I asked to be transferred to a US based Amazon customer service representative. At this point I was transferred to Jeremy. Jeremy was easy to talk to and had a clear phone line. He told me that my best bet was to speak with a supervisor, leadership team individual, with Amazon logistics. He told me that they had the ability to do what I needed to have done. I said that’s what I’ve been trying to do for this entire time I’ve been on the phone. He transferred me to Melissa. Melissa is an angel from Georgia. We had a wonderful conversation in which I told her what I needed and why I needed it. She was able to arrange to have another gate delivered to me on Saturday and she was also able to tell me where the first gate had been delivered. It turns out that the driver who delivered the first gate delivered it to my next-door neighbors. I texted and emailed them to ask if they have the package. This morning they got the gate to me. They simply did not recognize my name on the address label. Tried to cancel the other gate’s delivery, but it is too late. If I’m here when the person delivers the gate I will refuse it. If not, I will just return it. My take away from this experience is as follows: 1. Customer service needs to be Amazon’s top priority. 2. Amazon needs to thoroughly retrain everyone who answers the phone in their name. 3. All phones need to be answered by people who speak clear, precise English. 4. Any and all lies told by Amazon employees are immediately fireable offenses. 5. All phone lines used to transact Amazon’s business needs to be free of static and interfering noise. 6. Random recording of customer service calls should be used to keep people honest in their handling of customer concerns and/or complaints. 7. To ensure quality control all calls handled by supervisory personnel are recorded and used for training purposes. 8. Customers do not like broken promises. If Amazon cannot manage one or two day delivery with integrity, then it should be discontinued as a benefit of shopping at Amazon. 9. The importance of accurately delivering packages need to be emphasized with every delivery person. There should be some system of checks and balances to ensure that packages are delivered to the correct address. The picture of the place where the package is left is designed to keep your customers honest. What are you doing to keep your drivers honest? Your customers are the basis of your business. If customers are disappointed with your service your business will suffer.

Not the greatest. Arrived broken. Hinges should be longer.
The hinges should be longer so that the screws are not completely obstructed. (see pictures) It was madness trying to get the screw into the wall while not messing up the unremovable soft part support of the gate. (see pictures) If the hinges were longer there wouldn't have been a problem with this. Flat head screws would also have been better in my opinion. The gate arrived broken on a crucial part and the box was quite damaged (see pictures) but that falls on whoever stepped in it, threw it or placed something heavier than this product on top of it (Amazon warehouse) Gate should arrive with proper sized hinges to match the design of the gate otherwise you have to go above the baseboards so it fits and swings adequately. (see pictures) This won't keep the chihuahua out of the area as he is 8lbs and can easily slide under the gate. The other two dogs are bigger (between 15 to 20lbs) so they shouldn't be able to nudge it open since it swings towards them. I'll probably add some soft plastic to the bottom of the gate for the chihuahua. My little toddler does like it and he can open and close it to keep the vultures (dogs) out of the area when he is snacking in his room and my little boy likes the idea of being able to open and close this gate on his own. Would I buy it again? No. I will pay better attention to the wall set up (hinges and screws) for the next gate we get. Do I recommend this gate with current hinges (set up)? No. It could have been set up better with longer hinges. This current set up makes it hard to take the gate off as well. Does it work for its intended purpose with current set up? No. Current set up only keeps out 2 out of 3 dogs and will require an additional do it yourself bottom cover to make up for the extra few inches that were added to the bottom due to the baseboards. Will this current set up work for containing a toddler? No. My toddler can open/close this gate with ease in its current state. You would have to tighten it a bit more so it doesn't open but then it defeats the purpose of the swinging gate feature as it would then be a mounted pressured gate that's now attached to the wall. If it's used just as a pressured gate it should be fine but it's not very tall. The chicken wire design makes it easy enough for most dogs, but cats and children to climb over it. I picked this gate over the slit gates because the chihuahua can just walk on through them and the others attempt to do the same. I felt the toddler could get hurt attempting the same thing but they won't climb this because it's more of a detterent in a way due to its bulky design.

Wobbly
Used the wall mount hardware. It is definitely not a sturdy gate. So I wouldn't use it as a line of defense against something dangerous for little ones. Just as a secondary blockade.

Perfect for outdoor use
Purchased this to use on an outdoor deck for my small dog. It was the only one I could find tgst had no metal parts that would rust. I only used the pressure mount and did not use any piece of suggested/included hardware - as I did not want to put ant screw holes or adhesives on my deck posts. My dog only weighs 20 lbs and is not the type to challenge the gate (by jumping or pushing against it)...so safety was not a concern in my situation - therefore I was able to bypass hardware. My purpose was a no rust gate to keep my dog from leaving tge deck

Baby/doggy gate
I love the gate, but the lock striped out on it the second time using it. Now can't get it to stay in place when the dogs or kids lean on it.

A little flimsy but it works
Not super sturdy but it works for a small dog. My guess is a larger dog or child could probably break it or knock it down. A piece of the plastic cracked after less than a week of use.

Great gate
This is a great gate for the money. It is very sturdy and easy to use. I first purchased a cheaper wooden gate and it split the first time using it. So for a little extra money, this is worth the purchase. I will probably be buying more in the future.

Great value for a gate
Easy to stall and sturdy enough to keep pets out of certain areas of the house.
