Size up, narrow through waist and leg
These are good quality, but they run small. My child is very thin and narrow and she couldn’t button them. (Age 9, size 7/8).

Buy a size up.
Runs a little small. My LO is very petite and it was still tight on her little legs. Washes well, stitches are immaculate and it is well made.

Runs very small
Way to small. My daughter is a long legged very thin 11 year old. Usually in the waist she’s like an 8. I saw these ran small so I got her a 10. They were way too tight. I’m thinking she would need at least a 12, but probably a 14. Otherwise they’re really well made.
