Functional But Not Durable - No Parts Availability
Purchased the Space Places DP430 pump exactly one year ago for an outdoor goldfish pond. When I went to put it out again this year it wouldn't start and when it did it was very noisy. On examination both end bushings and the impeller shaft ends were extremely worn. I've run other pumps for years under identical conditions without this problem. Quality magnetic drive pumps also have parts availability. The manufacture, Beckett Corp, does not readily supply parts making this a "throw away" item.

OK for the most part.
The pump works well, but the filter doesn’t work as well as I would’ve like. The filter needs to be removed and cleaned frequently. It rapidly clogs.

Okay, But Loud
We have a patio fountain and found this to be a good pump, but a bit loud. We had to get this size because of the water lift that was required. The input nozzle was required also since there was a drain tube into the bowl of the fountain, which few have. Because of the inlet size, it took a number of fittings to get the connections all worked out. We will not be using the filter either. The only down side to this pump is the inlet issues, lack of adapter for tubing size, and the noise - I may have to build an enclosure of some type. I can't speak to the longevity, hence the 3 star on that item.

Remember it's just a pump.
Don't buy the fountain kit they have paired with this, it doesn't connect to make a fountain. This does move water and I have the water flow hit rocks to give me some water sound I wanted in a fountain. I have a very small pond mainly for birds. I've had small goldfish in it at times, but what I really was replacing was a filtered fountain. But this isn't it, but it will do. There is power to move a lot of water.

Ready to go!
Works great and was easy to install. It would be nice if it had a low water cutoff switch. It may have, but could not find any information either way so I assume it doesn’t.

Great pump
We have a small pond with a waterfall. We had another pump just about like this one and it lasted many years of continuous use except in winter. That one finally gave up. We are extremely happy with our purchase.

liking the foam filter
this is my 2nd purchase. the first lasted about 3 yrs, which is good compared to others i've tried. My fountain problem was clogging up too fast as fountain is under a tree. The foam filter is easy to remove and clean making the job much faster and easier. Can do it in less than 5 minutes. The roundness of the filter makes it so there is more area for water flow meaning i have to clean it less often.

Keeps the water flowing in my pond
I have hooked this up to an old Laguna filter box and put it into the deeper area of my pond. Works great drawing the water through the filter and through the fountain head. I previously owned the 280gph version which also worked well until we accidentally broke the intake tube. High recommend this for a decorative pond.

It is a waste of money and I plan to try to return ...
I bought this brand because I had had what I thought was the same mode; which worked faithfully for a decade before it wore out. HOWEVER, although this claims to be the same model, it is flimsy and noisy. It ran for about 2 hours before quitting inexplicably- not due to blockage, GFI, or anything I could find. Jiggling it 24 hours later made it start up again, but it rattles noisily and quits running. It is poorly made of cheap materials. As well, the plastic support for the sponge filter was off in its dimensions and wouldn't fit snugly against the pump because it was a bit too big. I had ordered spare filters as well, and the support that came with these did fit properly. It is a waste of money and I plan to try to return it.
