I had to change the line out, Works great in local ponds. caught a 5lb catfish with no problems. after using it for two months i had a few jams, you get what you paid for it. good for kids and beginners....

After one cast, this was in the garbage.
If I could put less than 1 star, I would. I have no problem with low expectations on a low-cost reel, what i have a problem with is literally ONE cast and the internal mechanism locked up. I'm pretty handy with these things, so I figured i'd take it apart and make a small adjustment.. NOPE. this thing is just poorly designed. Instead of multiple parts that i could adjust, it's internal mechanics are inaccessible and cheap. Cheap I expected. I would not recommend this for anyone. Stick with a inexpensive Shakespeare or Zebco.

very nice reel
this reel is a bit on the heavy side compared to other reels I have comparable to it. but maybe that is a good thing. it works fine and have had no problems with it so far. much better that the daiwa minicast size 40 I just threw in my junk box.

Excellent reel for the money. Bought two for each of my daughters rods and they work great. Definitely recommend for tHe amateur fisherman.
