Not what I expected

Unfortunately it was not what I expected it’s actually a little painful and I love using tens units to relieve my pain. I have a high tolerance for pain but this was a little uncomfortable and the pain felt like a light burning of my skin.

NOT a neck massager.

The product is lightweight but the design is very poor and it doesn’t live up to its claims as a massager. First, there is no indication of which “mode” it is in when you press the M button on the remote, or the power button on the neck piece. So it’s literal guesswork as to what it should be doing. The pads do not massage. They don’t do anything except get barely warm and release a very mild shock at times. I am a petite person but even using a neck pillow to press the device into my neck did nothing. Dampening my skin did nothing. Didn’t matter how many times I tried to change the mode, or increased the intensity, there was no “cupping” or “shiatsu” or anything. I tried charging it to see if perhaps it was a battery issue but nothing changed. Did I get a faulty model? Maybe. But even if this particular one doesn’t work, the design is so bad I’m not willing to try to get a replacement. There’s no way to see what it’s doing when you’re using the remote to try to control it. There is no visual indication of what mode it’s in or how long you have left on the five(?) minute timer. There isn’t anything in the instructions that tells you how to get to shiatsu mode or what have you. If all I’d wanted was a TENS unit, I would have bought that. But this is advertised as a massager as well and it definitely did nothing to actually massage my neck. I was so disappointed. Returning it as faulty. Cannot recommend.

A great device to help a sore tired neck.

The Smart Neck Massager by Serene Life is the perfect device to take care of your sore or painful neck. Every now and then I get what I call a "kink" in my neck running down to should mussel that runs into the bottom of my neck. This Smart Neck Massager is perfect for fixing the problem for me. The two plats on the back of the neck run a light electric stimulation and it is adjustable for weaker or stronger. Then the optional heat elements on each side of the "ears" of the device transmit a warm and soothing heat to the side of the neck. You can start and use the device with onboard control or the included remote for finer adjustment. The Smart Neck Massager is perfect for that occasional "pain in the neck".

Excellent product!

I have used a TENs unit for years for neck issues. The wires, pads, cords are a pain. This feels very similar to the TENS unit, but NO wires, sticky pads or cords! And my neck feels great afterwards! Highly recommend!

Good little electro massager

I'm mostly gonna review this based on my understanding of the device itself. This was my first dive into electric stimulation for massage, and the experience is just a bit odd for me. Overall the massager seems to do as its designed. The thing does pack quite an impressive punch at highest settings. The shock is so intense you can see my neck/shoulders move from the muscles contracting. The heating is also nice and soothing on the neck. The remote is also super nice. It would be a pain in the neck to hunt for the button on the massager to change settings.. It does bring some relief to a stiff neck but in my opinion it just can't beat an old fashioned massage which is why I'm going 4/5 stars.

Compact & effective..

It didn't take long to learn the ins and outs of my great new neck massager. After charging the device and reading the very clear little manual, I ventured to try it my first time. After trying out the 6 massage modes, I found 2 that worked best for me, then I worked on the intensity and the heating feature. All of this was made very simple using the remote controller. Though there's still a place for a traditional neck massage, this device is certainly more handy and convenient. It has already become a regular part of my daily routine.

After using it for 5 seconds, I got back on Amazon and bought another one

I used this device for all of 5 seconds before I jumped on Amazon to buy another as a gift for my mom. If that’s not an endorsement I don’t know what is. A couple of downsides… - Even on maximum settings it’s not as strong as some EMS machines I’ve used in the past, but it more than makes up for this by not having sticky pads I need to replace, or wires. - The heat function isn’t all that warm. - if the device is positioned incorrectly it’s possible to get a very painful effect even on lower settings. Only happened once or twice, but it’s a feeling like putting a needle in your neck: Totally harmless, just uncomfortable. - there is a sticker on the device with a QR code to register for the warranty. as opposed to being a plastic type sticker the comes off easily and cleanly, it’s a paper based sticker that leaves half stuck bits and glue behind, requiring cleaning.

GOOD DEVICE

I have degenerative neck pain. I tried a chiropractor, physio, and that didn't help. I am now doing deep tissue massages which help loosen up the muscle but I still have pain. I liked the tens machine and this gives pulses like that. I used a cream on my neck, then used this machine for an entire evening...I had a good sleep first time in a long time. I don't find the heater very strong but it does get warm when you remove the device from your neck. My only complaint would be the time of the pulses...I think it only goes 15 minutes or something like that. Otherwise this device is helping my pain.

Not sure

Not sure if I like this one or not. Sometimes it creates weird sensations. Sometimes it takes long before it starts working. I like when it works and starts heating my neck. But I don’t like when it stops and I have to restart again but takes long before it restarts.

Haven't had a long enough chance to use it, my niece and my mother been boring it often. The heating function feels amazing, and the vibration is a little sharp depending on the strength level

Wow!

For years I've been trying to wrap a heating pad around my neck to relieve the pain. This device wraps around your neck very snuggly, and the vibration along with the heat is amazing.
