A great light strip that is reasonably price AND works with Apple HomeKit!

I saw reviews saying that this product has a high reliability and good functionality when used with Apple HomeKit, and they are RIGHT. Make sure you have your device on your 2.4GHz network when setting it up and things will go smoothly. Wi-fi issues (low signal strength, channel interference from other wi-fi in your location, not naming the 2.4GHz side something different than the 5GHz one) are the cause of most of the issues people experience with IoT devices like remote controlled lighting. This unit seems to function well if these networking items are handled by the user. One semi-disappointing thing is the color rendering; being a RGB design means that going setting a color and then dimming the output will cause the color to shift, but this isn't a major issue for my application.

Works Well

I bought these for my Server Rack and they look great. They stick to the metal fine and light up my whole rack so I can see inside it. Also works with Homekit which is a big plus to me.

Great quality but colors are way off

These lights are a great, cheap option if you’re looking for an affordable strip that is home kit enabled. But the colors are very off. Red is like fuchsia pink, and orange somehow turns green if you turn the brightness down?

Good product but it wont stay on the wall!

I really wanted to love this product, but it just won’t agree with me. I’ve reapplied it again and again and still the same results. My wall isn’t the problem either bc my comand strips and roommates leds seem to stick. This is just to much work if it keeps falling off and making it to where I have to reapply it everyday.

Cheap, easy setup, inaccurate colors.

Homekit setup was completely seamless, however certain colors are way off. For example brown ends up looking purple. Overall brightness just seems ok.

Loses connection

This strip keeps losing the connection and won’t respond. I also can’t get it to scan into the Meross App. It was scan into HomeKit fine, but not the actual Meross App. I have other Meross outlets and light bulbs and they work fine, but not these light strips. Perhaps they have faulty controllers?

Meross LED Strip light - highly recommended, but room for improvement

This is a very good light, because it combines RGB colour LEDs and 2 different white LEDs with different colour temperatures in one single strip. It works well in the Apple Home app, but the Meross app allows adjustments of the LED colour temperature and brightnesses. That app provides tabs for white, colour and effects adjustment. The effects are interesting, but could do with some improvement. The adhesive works well, but in order to install the strip in different sections, you need 6-pin connectors and wire. Unfortunately only one 6-pin connector is provided, and Meross could not provide more. An extension for the DC 5.5 x2.1 mm M to F power lead in different lengths can be bought separately at a reasonable price, if you need to install the light some distance from the nearest power point. A very handy feature is the small rectangular box with a push button which the light strip plugs into, so that the light can be turned on or off without the app. All in all a very bright and full featured light at a highly competitive price compared to other products selling for nearly 3 times the price. Much better than the other offerings in a similar price.

Not bad for Apple users

The media could not be loaded. For the money not much to complain although: App is horrible for example party mode does. I thing yet relax mode flashes like crazy ! App is build in a very bad way and I find home app much better to use , creators could improve it Brightness not great looks good when other lights are off as you can see in picture Adhesion is a nightmare!!! Weak and be carful with ikea furniture might go off with varnish even it’s so weak Now about connectors and bending , strip is not very flexible only few spots you actually bend it if you want get connectors you will need 12mm 6 pin not the traditional 4 pin something to be aware of Only 5 support holders and I’m wondering why 5 not at least 6??? No idea Setup is quite easy and you don’t need Meross app for it , plug it in scan code add setup , done Overall not bad for the price I will update after few months to tell you guys more about it Compare to other brands like govee unfortunately this one get low score from me but unfortunately it’s the only one for reasonable money to work with home kit If you don’t have ocd like me and you happy with what you see get it but I will consider buying something more expensive with better brightness and more options to set up. Firmware update essential.

Installation of the led strip was straightforward, as was pairing. As usual with Meross products, ensure you don't have a 5gHz wifi bonded onto the 2.4gHz ID as many ISP supplied routers do these days as you may get problems. Initially when I installed the kit (using homekit) I noticed several issues with colours not syncing correctly and when telling the strip to turn off, it would leave the WW and W on very dimly if certain colours were selected. This led to quite a bit of frustration when a firmware update was not available for it on the Meross app. However coming back to it this morning and looking on the meross app once again, there was a firmware update showing which was a breeze to install. This has since fixed any bugs within homekit, save for the slightly janky colour wheels which have always been a minor niggle. Lastly, whilst the mains transformer comes with a good length of cable, the tails on the interface box are very short and could have done with being twice, if not three times longer as it makes it awkward to hide out the way so close to the end of the strip. Will definitely buy more in the future, but some caveats to note, hence the 4 Stars. I'll endeavour to update on the longevity of the tape attached to the chipboard rebated underside of a worktop.

Purchased two, one totally failed in a couple of hours **Update: Now having network issues**

Purchased 2 of those for my daughters dressing table/desk. One to create a cool looking under glow and another to surround the mirror as a makeup light. Setup and installation was mostly easy although the strip that ultimately failed had a couple of dodgy LED’s, no worries I thought I didn’t need all 5 meters I’ll cut as directed and get rid of the duff section. This also went without a hitch and all was working. However a few hours later I go to say good night to my daughter and the mirror set had failed completely, not even showing on my network. I tried switching the power adapters but the adapter was working as it powered the other lights, I tried holding the button to reset the control box and re add to HomeKit/Meross app but nothing worked the whole strip didn’t even flash back to life. According to the child the mirror lights randomly flashed earlier in the night and then went off, so I suspect the control box is fried. The set that still works looks and works awesome though and HomeKit integration is great, only need the Meross app for firmware updates and to stick them in disco flashing mode. Sending the broken set back for a refund and have already ordered the replacement set due to the other set still working great. Hopefully it’s just a dodgy unit and the replacements will be fine. **Update** So like a previous set of Meross Smart Plugs I eventually returned these lights are now having network issues. I have a 3 point Nest WiFi setup which is great and these will connect and work fine on that, however after a random amount of time they will show as not responding on the Apple Home app. However when I check on the router device page they are both showing as fully connected with good signal and IP addresses correctly assigned. I have even gone as far as to install a separate WiFi access point for them to specifically connect to to rule out any roaming issues with having a mesh network as my main network and no 5GHz band either and this still didn’t work. I suspect there must be some kind of server issue or something as I have had these lights and previously a set of Meross plugs that have failed in the same way, however my daughters Meross bedside lamp has always worked perfectly which is why I’ve purchased more Meross stuff but this is the last Meross thing I purchase as they are just too unreliable.

Near perfect LED strip

Super simple to install, fits in my HomeKit to set up perfectly, it’s in several routines and scenes My only issue is that when it is set off, two of the lights remain on, very low to the point of not being noticeable unless the room is pitch black. For me it’s not a problem, most of the time, but it is a minor issue that I have noticed
